I take a peek at what's going on with the game usually once, or twice a year, even then I don't see much in the way of progress. The game is basically one of my go to examples of how not to make/run a game, and Phaserlight consistently demonstrates himself as a white knight for the game, that blinds himself to the facts in full view to anyone willing to see. No one with a conscious could recommend this game to anyone.

I've had very positive [my.mmosite.com] experiences around Vendetta Online, and recognize constructive criticism (I've helped create content for the game, after all). What you are doing really amounts to character assassination, which is wholly without merit. Find a new hobby.

You really have gone off the deep end. Kindly show me where I have "bud (sic) into conversations about gaming, or other games, on other sites" and I will gladly correct it. Otherwise, you may want to take a look in the mirror before accusing me of "trying to lie, deny facts, and attack people".

I don't think I've done anything unwarranted or untoward. You, on the other hand, have waged a sustained campaign against this game (under more than one username, I presume), and are very quick to throw out pejoratives ("Can't down vote this garbage enough" -Feb 10, 2013).

Yes, the Greenlight launch has taken longer than anticipated, but that's somewhat expected given their Kickstarter failed. I don't think that justifies embarking on a sustained smear campaign.

As you seem to be an expert on Vendetta Online let me repeat my question: what did the devs of this game ever do to you?

Just look at the dates involved, when the game was Greenlight, when they last posted an announcement of some form, when they said to expect the game on Steam, when I posted, and finally the current date. Once you do that, anyone with any sense could see what I said was 100% justified, and if one knew of their history, as you do, 100% correct. Even some long standing fans of the game have complained to the devs about this ongoing habit of theirs. My posting was meant to inform those that don't know about that habit, and are waiting for a Steam release.

@Phoenix, what is it with you and this game? What did they ever do to you?

These guys have a long standing tradition of grossly underestimating how long it takes them to complete something. Take the fabled 1.9 patch, talk of that being juuuuust about ready has been going on for about ten years now, it's still not out. You'll want to at least double, or triple whatever time period they provide you to get at least close to the actual completion date.

Now that DX12 is out, does that mean another 3 years of waiting Inc? Gezz.

New DX11 engine just went into production a few weeks ago, and the game server was re-worked and migrated to a much stronger location over summer+fall, we're doing much of this to prepare for the Steam release. Currently targeting the first half of 2016, preferably Q1 if all goes well.

We want the steam launch to be really strong, so we've been spending time re-working the graphics engine for new DX11 shaders, and adding other features. Plus, it does take time to add in other parts of Steam support, like billing and so on.

Why it's game still in greenlight? I played in Vendetta at 2011 and it was cool, but when we can see it on Steam Market? Why delay?

Honestly Guild, I think you should've found a non-subscription based way to fund the game. One thing stopping Vendetta from becoming a great game is the subscription fees. I remember playing hour after hour but for only so long. There are many MMOs that are non-subscription based out there today. Which allows people to play on their time not on a fee based time limit. There's even Galaxy on Fire that has pretty much the same gameplay but you pay once and you play whenever the hell you want. And yes, I was there during and after the beta. And yes, I do hate EVE.

I remember that my brothers played this about eight or nine years ago, and they had a blast. I think it would be a real boon for the Steam community to have access to this title.

Flight and combat are the best I've seen in space MMO's.
You can dodge shots by reflex, no instant hit.
You can starfe in any direction at full speed, or can go straight at afterburner speed.
Ship mass, loot mass and equipament mass changes the ships aceleration and manueverability a lot.
NPCs doesn't have constant magic respawn at spawnpoints, they travel throw the universe like other players.

I played this before EVE started working with WINE. Tried one of the reactivate for a week offers when they released the Android client but didn't really care for it on touch. I noticed that during my trial there were a lot of twinked out "pwn joo" PvPers rather than the RP type that were around in the early days. I can't say that I'd go back, but it's a good game and deserves a place in the library.
