so what is the current state of the game and when is it coming out
Intravenous Software  [author] Jul 22, 2014 @ 8:25am
Hey Star-X. The demo was available for months. I'm sorry that you didn't get it while it was available. Unfortunately, it didn't make much sense to have a demo that was nothing like the current version and as a solo-dev there wasn't enough time to continually keep the demo up to date with the latest version while development was progressing so quickly.

I'll likely release another demo in time but right now I'm preparing everything for the Steam release that is happening very soon.

If you want to know what the gameplay is like, you can watch hours of pure gameplay footage with commentary here: (Skip the first 30 mins to get to the NeonXSZ footage) or here : (skip the first hour).
This second link is more action packed because he was much deeper into the game.
Star-X Jul 21, 2014 @ 8:05pm
@ dev: Please reupload the demo. Even if it isn't representative of the final version, some of us just want to see what it plays like. Gameplay footage just can't do a game like this justice.

Reason I ask: it's literally impossible to find a non-Linux version of the demo on the internet now. Those of us who are interested (read: me and many others most likely) would love to be able to get a sample of the gameplay.

It's not like every game on Steam has up to date demos, either. Mount and Blade Warband's demo is practically as old as the game itself and hasn't been patched once AFAIK, and the release version is so far behind the current version that many vital features are missing from the demo release; despite that it still gives a really good idea of what the game is like. Removing the demo just seems like a bit of a jerk thing to do when hardly anyone got to try it before it disappeared...

Congrats on fiiiiinally getting greenlit. I voted for this the first day it was put up here :'(
Athanatos Apr 20, 2014 @ 8:02pm
I saw that and I am deeply tempted. I just was hoping to have a demo to see what it was like before putting down some cash.
LINUX GOD Apr 20, 2014 @ 3:11pm
@Athanatos - You can still buy the game on Desura. We should get Steam keys later sometime this year when we buy on Desura.
Athanatos Apr 19, 2014 @ 8:22pm
Thanks for the update! I understand the reason for getting rid of the demo. I will keep my eye on this eagerly as development continues.
Intravenous Software  [author] Apr 19, 2014 @ 12:35pm
Thanks everyone. I was concerned about Greenlight closing before getting Greenlit but we are officially accepted to Steam now. :)

Sorry Athanatos. The demo was growing long in the tooth and was no longer representative of the current version of the game. The demo download was removed.

I'm not expecting to put together another demo any time soon. It's too time consuming to keep up to date as a solo-dev. I'm concentrating on getting the full game finished for now. Maybe another demo in the future. We will see.
Athanatos Apr 18, 2014 @ 8:49pm
Congrats! I never knew about this until it was greenlit. I tried to find the demo. Is it not available anymore?
TranceWarp Apr 18, 2014 @ 6:57pm
Congrats on the Greenlight! I was thinking that it might be a moot point as they said Greenlight would be discontinued. Great game! Well deserved. :)
LINUX GOD Apr 17, 2014 @ 4:27pm
Congrats on the greenlight, can't wait to add to my steam library

I like flying trough asteroids in space having a good battle in the same time, my ship must be simple to use, so that's my comment. nice game. ;)

Thanks everyone for your support recently.

I recently got back into PC gaming by building my own rig. I am heavily invested in the PC as an open platform as well as Steams ecosystem now. It's indie games like this, as well as the mod community, that makes me glad I chose the PC over a PS4. With the advent of Kickstarter and games getting successfully funded through there, the PC is set to receive games from genres that most PC enthusiast thought were dead and gone. This game looks great and I look forward to future updates to improve on what already looks like a solid foundation.

nice, this reminds me to descent - I would really enjoy such a game

How has this game still not been Greenlit?
Intravenous Software  [author] Feb 6, 2014 @ 7:48am
Okay, DaRaziel. Enjoy the game. Maybe start out by choosing the M1 ship. It's the slowest of the three starter ships but just be sure to spam missiles in that ship because that's what it's designed for. It only has a single turret and relies on missiles to do its work. You won't be able to unlock a destroyer in the demo, but you should be able to unlock a corvette that looks like the Pyro GX :)
DaRaziel Feb 6, 2014 @ 7:45am
Oh, thanks for the link. Downloading at the moment! :)
I will give you some feedback once i played it a little while.
Intravenous Software  [author] Feb 6, 2014 @ 7:20am
No need to sign up to Desura to play the demo.
Go here:
Then click the FREE button for whatever system you are on and look for 'direct download' in the box that pops up. That will give you a direct link to a zipped standalone version of the game. No Desura app required.
You don't even need to install the app for the full version either. There are standalone versions for that too, and if you buy it on Desura you will get a free Steam key once we get onto Steam. :)
DaRaziel Feb 6, 2014 @ 7:11am
Tanks for the reply. Yes, i`ve seen that bit and it was exactly the most Descent-reminding part of the video to me ;)
Ok, you`re right. I thought of Descent within the first 5 seconds of game footage...

Don`t get me wrong, this looks quite nice and is certainly worth a try. I like the procedural approach to create content, yet i have to see how well it is implemented and regulated.

I want to get myself better informed about Desura first before i will install your demo and see for myself if this is as fun as i can think of.

Appreciate your effort! All the best for you guys!

Keep it up!
[APro] MadjackMcMad Feb 6, 2014 @ 7:08am
Look at this game! Descent called, and they... they want you to know that they're proud of you. They're very proud and just wanted to call and tell you that you're making them very happy, and good luck and they miss you too. I think I heard tears.
Intravenous Software  [author] Feb 6, 2014 @ 5:00am
Thanks DaRaziel. NeonXSZ currently features 30+ ships that you can loot and fly.

There are destroyer class ships that are all teeth but much slower. Skip to 1:30 in this video : .
That is a quad turret destroyer using the rail gun. Notice how it is much slower to move (more like Descent) in exchange for increased fire power, shields and energy regeneration.

All the ships are balanced so you could play the whole game in a slower destroyer like that if it suits you better, or switch to a faster ship at any time. You are also in complete control of your upgrades so you can make a ship that suits your prefered playstyle. It's not hard to make a ship feel like the Pyro GX from Descent.

This obviously doesn't turn the game into Descent but you don't have to use ships that feel like hyperactive bees on speed unless you want to.
DaRaziel Feb 6, 2014 @ 4:19am
I´m a fan of the old "Descent" game. For me personally you shouldn`t have mixed this up with a more fast paced shooter - i`d rather have a modern version of Descent. Despite my personal opinion this looks very nice and a multiplayer is strongly recommended. Keep it up!

I really like games with cockpit view,
Intravenous Software  [author] Jan 22, 2014 @ 5:37am
Thanks for the comments and votes everyone. You guys have made a big difference to the number of votes we are getting recently. :)

Over the last month we have averaged about 65% yes votes (35% no votes) which is fantastic.

We are now 87% of the way to the top 100 games but without your continued support that percentage soon starts to slip back down when other games get more daily votes.

Continuing to spread the word and talk about the game on forums is a great way to help us out and get the final votes that we need. Keep up the good work and we should hopefully be Greenlit very soon.

Right now we are busy working on a massive new content patch, full of new challenge arenas to explore and conquer, so your help to promote the game while we are so busy with other things is massively appreciated.
LINUX GOD Jan 22, 2014 @ 12:29am
The current version kicks ass bro, I have this on Desura which is ncie, but Steam really is where I play my games.

The current version looks sweet, the motion blur, the sound - I really feel pulled into the world when I turn the game on and very few games do that well.

Pro job, keep it up, and I can't wait till this comes out on steam: Hell, It's about time!

Intravenous Software  [author] Jan 17, 2014 @ 5:44am
It's all about the number of visitors Antares. The game averages 50%+ yes votes now, sometimes as high as 90% on some days, but we only average about 10-20 voters per day unless someone talks about it somewhere. The game is currently 83% of the way to the top 100 games.

If a big YouTuber takes a look at a game it can cause hundreds if not thousands of visitors to the page and cause it to be greenlit incredibly quickly. The same is true if a big gaming site reports about a game. Unfortunately, neither of those things has happened for us yet.

Of course you guys can help to make that happen by talking/posting about the game everywhere. The more gamers are talk about it, the faster it will get Greenlit and the more likely it is that the big YouTubers and gaming sites will cover it also.
