@ESPF: I've added a video which shows the way the top player can actually make it work. If the bottom player looks at what the top player does, they can see when they can stop using the button, where the top player can use this to quickly change the state of the fizzlers.
LPChip  [author] Nov 6, 2017 @ 1:02am
I'll see if I can record a video on how it is supposed to be done.
ESPF Nov 5, 2017 @ 3:08pm
We did, yep - it just wasn't enough somehow!
LPChip  [author] Nov 5, 2017 @ 10:38am
@ESPF, but did you setup correctly? If so, then the window is pretty huge. Basically the idea is that the loose player first sets up the lasers and cubes so that one fizzler is turned off. This gives the player below lots of room to keep the cube alive. Next the player above positions the portals in such way that he can change the cube to select the other fizzler. All he has to do now is tell the bottom player to step off the button and take over, moving the laser in such way that the other fizzler is activated in time which he has plenty of time to do, and the bottom player can jump on the button just in case.

I'd agree with the comments about a larger margin for error - it's frustrating when you've done the same thing umpteen times because of being a nanosecond too slow on the button (it doesn't help that the cube keeps moving for a bit before changing direction, but that's Valve's fault, not yours!)
wildgoosespeeder Sep 18, 2015 @ 5:19pm
Not everyone is going to have smooth controls (I don't use WASD). I understand the right rhythm is required, but the controls I had just weren't smooth enough for the amount of error your map gives. I kept misfiring.
LPChip  [author] Sep 18, 2015 @ 2:06pm
Thanks wildgoosespeeder. If you set things up properly, the room for error is quite okay.
wildgoosespeeder Sep 18, 2015 @ 2:01pm
You really took advantage of coop concept in this map although I wish the required technique had a little bit more room for error. The map is nice none-the-less. Nice work.

Thanks Juuhelikkäs :) That means a lot to me.

One of the best Co-Op maps I've ever played, almost even over the Valve maps. Amazing job!
LPChip  [author] Jul 2, 2014 @ 7:06am
:D I hope you had fun doing so. :)

Had the honor of being the button jumper :>

Nice playthrough Tom K. Thanks :) It was awesome watching you guys play and hear the feedback regarding the puzzle and even the little chatter about our new portal2 group. :) kodus.

Here is our playthrough:
LPChip  [author] Apr 16, 2013 @ 1:28am
@fri: Very nice solution. I'm going to keep this as alternate solution. You definitely need 2 players to pull it off, but its a bit harder to pull off. I'm sure both of you had lots of fun solving it your way, which is my only goal. It would've sucked if you could solve it alone, but you can't. You need the other player to look at the funnel and pull in the cube to do this, so definitely a team effort. :)

Thanks for the video.

Although I have a hard time seeing how you did it, and a movie would be really nice, I don't think its actually skipping the map. If you time things correctly and set it up, it is possible to do the run without reversing the funnel. But its much harder that way. However, it might be possible that you found a way to actually solve the map solo, which is a bad thing. Can you confirm this or if possible link me to a movie?
fri Apr 15, 2013 @ 5:58am
We found a way to skip reversing the funnel flow. I placed a portal through the window with deadly lasers, then after setting everything up my partner threw the cube through the portal directly into the blue funnel. Using the orange funnel wasn't neessary.

We did switch roles because Jair was useless at the control bit and i was useless at the run around bit...
LPChip  [author] Feb 24, 2013 @ 2:10am
Thanks Lord^Jair and Firebeard of clan DSA. :) This shouldn't be that evil. It suggests me that you tried it the hard way.
If you first setup the run, then there is only one time where you have to time the movement of the cube correctly, so the window for mistakes is considerably smaller. The controller player (one down stairs with the button) can have a huge space to try and control the cube, get a feel for how to do it correctly, and then move it closer to the fizzler and keep it under control.

Using +remote_view in console, the other player can watch this action and then decide when is the best time to set it otherwise. In addition, the top player can use the ping-tool with timer to tell the bottom player when he is going to make his move. Don't forget, its a teamsport. Not just completing the map, but talking about what to do etc.

For a real challenge and more fun, play the map again, and switch roles. :)

Excellent map quite simple in constructiion but very tricky in its execution good fun but infuriating at times :)
[DSA]Lord^Jair Feb 23, 2013 @ 2:40pm
This is eeeeevil ! NIce one!!!
LPChip  [author] Nov 5, 2012 @ 11:31am
Thanks papert1ger. I wonder though what you found tricky mechanics, unless you refer to what one of the two players has to do for an extended period of time.

I made it so that one player can give the other player quite some room for error, by just presetting things.
papert1ger Nov 5, 2012 @ 10:43am
Nice map, quite tricky mechanics, felt good to get there in the end
LPChip  [author] Oct 22, 2012 @ 3:35am
You're welcome. Thanks for telling me about this. :)
vex Oct 21, 2012 @ 2:57pm
Nice man! Wasn't even expecting a reply never mind an insta-fix XD I'll give it another run through later with a friend and complete it :P
LPChip  [author] Oct 21, 2012 @ 12:59pm
Fix is out. :) Can't happen anymore.
LPChip  [author] Oct 21, 2012 @ 12:38pm
I see. I'll look into this and see if I can fix this.
vex Oct 21, 2012 @ 12:06pm
One of us left a cube on the button moving that platform downwards, we somehow both ended up down there and had no way of getting back up, it's our stupidity what lead us there though XD
LPChip  [author] Oct 21, 2012 @ 10:50am
vexyz\: how did that happen? If I can reproduce this, I might be able to fix it.
Spamfan Oct 20, 2012 @ 12:01pm
haha, no problem. I was thinking:
"Wait a second, they said 'the maps are coming together', and 'well done'---how did they not download it?!?!? o_O"
Haha! : )
LPChip  [author] Oct 20, 2012 @ 3:37am
Yeah, I did. I thought it was really funny. But thanks Spamfan. :) Much appreciated.
toncica Oct 20, 2012 @ 3:19am
You're a kind soul Spamfan, thx. It was meant as a joke though. LPChip would understand why I wrote that. Cheers. :)
Spamfan Oct 19, 2012 @ 6:04am
There is a green button right under the picture of the map.
It says 'Subscribe', press that button. :)
Then go into Portal 2, and click community Chambers, then Co-op chambers.
Hope that helped :)

Good design and fun puzzle. Well done, these coops of yours keep getting better. The only question is how do u install.
