Update #43

It’s finally here! The Vehicles Rework! Give us your feedback and bug reports!

And with this we enter the final stages of the beta.

Some other bugfixes & changes below.

-Bugfixes
+Max amount of Pandoran meat to process set to 100 per facility (instead of 250)
+Modules from Armor/Bionics not removed when pressing the unequip all button.
+Stunned enemies on which parapsychosis is applied stay stunned for longer than expected.
+Softlock on Mutoids using Goo attack.
+Project Cornucopia Assessment events missing key/background and character pics.
+Kaos Guns ammo not appearing in ambushes/scavengings.
+Mercenaries could get mutations.
+Could use Mind Control while under Hallucinating status.
+On base defense corridors to nowhere if some facility under construction (Vanilla).

-Changes
+Adjusted ammo scrap value so that it always gives at least one material back.
+Merc armor recoverable on missions with item autorecovery (like regular armors), and merc weapons also drop on death.
+New title screen and music (reverted to PP EGS release and added TFTV lettering).
+New plumbing for config options.

Hotfix 2 for Update #42

-Bugfixes
+Error on loading game (related to trying to remove Slug body parts from “old” saves).
+Issues with text describing Revenant resistance.
+Access lift description saying that it’s deployment point for defense mission (Vanilla).

-Changes
+Slug Parasymbiotic Interface (Tech Arms) no longer destroyed when disabled.
+Access lifts can’t be built (to avoid confusing some players).

+Error and missing pic on switching to vehicles in Marketplace.

-Bugfixes
+Spymaster came with the Vanilla Biochemist perk instead of the correct BC perk.
+Unable to deploy on some base defense/infestation missions (where base layout has rocks above the hangar).
+Gaining useless security station facilities upon clearing an infested base.
+Too few researches offered in the Marketplace.
+Added Berserker tag to Tormentor ammo, and Mutoid tag to Tormentor Ammo and Obliterator Ammo.
+Merc Spymaster weapon and armor had scrap value.
+Base defense objective not moving camera to base under attack when clicked.
+Error messages + softlock on Osiris with Mercs.
+Some Osiris texts not appearing/appearing with bad formatting.
+Mercs could be acquired even if there is no space in Living Quarters.

-Changes
+Technician/Slug remove facehugger no longer triggers acid explosion.
+Can deploy any time to defend a base if there are any operatives garrisoned in it.
+Added 16 additional loading screens, and removed Vanilla screens. Thanks Pavlov for finding them among the game assets!

Update #41

-Bugfixes
+Duplication/softlock issues with Slug biomechanical arms; this happens when there are “old”, pre Hotifx1, Tech Arms. So the solution is that the “old” Tech Arms and any characters that have them equipped are removed. Sorry about that!
+Some Merc archetypes with wrong lvl7 perk (only newly hired mercs will have the right perks).
+In Marketplace, no offers available text remaining even when switching tabs (text removed).
+In Marketplace, text saying offers change every day (changed to every 3-4 days).

-Changes
+Limited Deployment VO can now be turned off on new game start/in mod config at any time.
+Bloodthirsty Delirium perk will no longer remove WP for killing critters with no WP worth (worms, eggs, mindfraggers, etc.).
+Only promo skins not used for the Mercs will be now given to players who choose to start a new game with this option (that is, Aztec, Santa, Red Dragon and the PX “Prestige” gold set).
+Buying stuff at the Marketplace no longer requires an aircraft at the site.
+Humanoid enemies lose 6 WP on Leader death instead of 4 WP.
+Acheron leap now costs 1 AP (from 0AP) (still limited to one use per turn) and can shoot no more than twice per turn.
+Acid Myrmidon Acid damage reduced by 10 (so melee attack does 10 acid damage and explosion does 20 acid damage).
+Acid Worm acid damage on explosion reduced to 2.
+Only one Archaeology lab can be built per base (to discourage players who don’t read the description from building more of them. Yes, you only need the one).

+Fixed bugged view on bionic augmentation screen
+Removed “and restore limbs” from Die Hard description.

+Marketplace specials now have about a 33% chance of occurring.

-Further implementation
+Names for Merc gear.
+Adjusted stats for Mercs.
+Slug Parasymbiotic Interface (Tech-Arms) functionality: doesn’t require ammo, but every usage reduces Strength (and therefore encumbrance and max HP by 15%). Can result in death.

Update #40

The big thing about this update is the first iteration of the new Marketplace. In reality, this is part of the closed beta but, well, Saturnalia came early this year. So, for once, I will break protocol and let you unwrap this on your own :)

In other news, a few critical bugs were fixed. I’m really sorry for all those of you who had the misfortune of experiencing the infamous bugged haven defense; if you have a saved game before Olena gives notice of the attack, please use it.

Live long and merge into higher life forms!

+Wrong faction perks in characters gained in events.
+Symes story missions appearing without a location.
+Fix error message on attack launched from a recently destroyed Pandoran Colony.
+Error in deploy screen during base defense when operatives present at base.
+Softlock on any Ancients mission.
+Marketplace stock updating all the time (on missions completed, on loading saves, etc.)
+Rare phantom VO.
+Typo ‘alllow’ haven defender to join PX (Vanilla).
+Firequenchers not appearing if the player only used Mutoid fireworms.
+Softlock on applying poison to quills in the Behemoth mission.

Changes
+The Hatching gives a lot of XP now.
+Alien Goo can't be researched now until Aliens (not, say, Mutoids) use Goo.
+Added tip about switching off More Mist VO.
+Increased Mist (a little) in Lairs with More Mist VO.

-Bugfixes
+In the Marketplace sometimes the last item would have two identical entries.
+Softlock on game trying to reload “old” Kaos Guns with new ammo.
+Kaos guns ammo icons not looking like other ammo icons (no small pic of the gun).
+Partial magazines not visible in the equip soldier screen (Vanilla) (thank you Codemite!!).
+Pandoran colonies build time on Etermes after corresponding VO removed switching to lower difficulty speeds.

-Changes
+New option (on by default on Legend and ETERMES on new game start): No Second Chances. If you fail a mission, you cannot retry it again.
+Neutral haven rescue VIP missions and rescue Helena adjusted; now VIP starts as neutral, with an objective marker next to it. Activating the objective takes full turn (like hacking) during which the operative can't act. Once activated, VIP comes under player control and mission objective changes to evacuate all.
+Something about final missions, redacted to avoid spoilers.
+Reduced scrap value of all ammo (lowest of manufacture value divided by 2 or manufacture value divided by Burst value).
+Removed damage prediction numbers. The reasons for this are 1) the predicted damage was sometimes inaccurate, and 2) very often misinterpreted as guaranteed damage.
