This is a simple guide on how to see more clearly during that pesky time when the sun goes down.

NVIDIA ONLY & Slightly Outdated
First off I want it to be known that this practice only works with NVIDIA GPUs, so sorry to any AMD person that thought this would assist them.

Sorry to anyone looking to use this feature, as of now i'm 99% sure that these filters have been removed from rust.
Getting Started
First off you want to open up Nvidia Geforce Expirence, after that go to the top right of the window and click on settings. Once you do that look for a little box that says "Enable experimental features" and click the box to enable them. After you do that you need to download a new driver so go ahead and do that and you should be ready to rock and roll.
Setting up Profiles
Once you have completed all the steps above join a Rust server and press ALT and F3 when you have loaded in. You will be greated with a menu as shown that is very interesting to mess around with and customize. To create a "Night Vision" profile click on one of the three numbers listed, these numbers are profiles so that you can save individual color schemes and switch them at anytime. Once you click on a number, click on the adjustments button and scroll down untill you see contrast, when you find it click on it. Now click on contrast once you have it selected and turn gamma up to 100% and contrast to 47.5% (These are the numbers I recommend but you can use whatever values that suit you, keep in mind if you turn the contrast up high you will barely be able to see when inside your inventory.)
The Results
This method is a great way of seeing almost clearly during night time WHEN THE MOON IS OUT! Keep in mind this will not light up caves, pitch black shadows, and full-dark nights as seen here:

Before: After:

Although the scene is still pitch black the sky becomes lighter allowing you to see players against the sky easier.

Before:
After:
Using this method allows you to easily spot players quicker in dark areas.

Also for whatever reason I was never subscribed to the comments so I didn't realize how popular this guide got until too late. So sorry to all the people I ignored on accident.

I'm not 100% sure if they did but I do remember seeing something about it awhile back, I also haven't played rust in a solid year so i'm too lazy to find out for myself lol.

clips_ this profile is meant for bright nights not the fully dark nights where you can't see a thing. And no, it's not your monitor, everyone sees the same thing no matter the peripherals.

JackeroniBologni idk how dumb u are but the game renders it at (0, 0, 0) which means everything is the same color, meaning no matter how good your eyes are you will never be able differentiate between objects.
