Merge - Brian's GT Endurance & SS Rebalance [Deprecated - See Rebirth: Redux]

This mod is never being updated ever again, I have been working on a new project for the past 3 years which can be found here - Rebirth: Redux[www.nexusmods.com].

This is a merged mod, consisting of my GT Endurance & Endurance+ mod and my SingleSeater Rebalance mod, as you cannot currently run them together as they will conflict.

I tested this multiple times last night, and it works with current games. The distances will not always update right away, it might take you going to a race weekend to get everything to update. The easiest way to test is to start a new career and choose WMC, the first race at Doha will be 53 laps @ 3.52 miles per lap = 186 miles. This will also force the mod to be loaded.

If the new distances aren't picked up right away, then use the following method - subscribe to mod with the game closed, open game, enable mod, restart game and either load career, go into the next race, or just start a new career. Yes, it seems crazy, but Workshop assets don't always seem to be loaded immediately, and I had real trouble trying to get things loading properly. This is a game issue, not a mod issue.

This should also work with FIRE by Chris & Falko as I also tested this - however if you do use the two together and you have issues, then you cannot file bug reports to myself, or to Chris. I don't play FIRE, so beyond checking basic compatibility, I will be doing no further work on this.

I would always put race strategy to realistic, personally. As for AI driver level, if you want to be challenged, try 10 and see how you get on. I use Rebirth for all my difficulty bits, so I don't know how it'll pan out using the vanilla slider.

Thanks Brian, if you say so I'll keep those times to have a more challenging practice, anyway it's still possible to change the rules and get long practice session.
Just a last question, what I should choose for "Race Strategy Difficulty" and "AI Driver Level" to get the most from AI with your mod? Realistic and 10?

I increased setup change time costs so it's harder to spam installation laps to get perfect setups - the AI are never as efficient as the player, so there needed to be some kind of buffer to stop the player always getting 100%. Now with saved setups, you always have a decent starting point. However, tracks you have never been to before pose a choice to the player - do I go for the knowledge boosts, or do I go for the setup? The vanilla game has everything stacked in the player's favour, I decided I hated that. Feel free to change it back to lower figures yourself.

There is no Endurance DLC component yet as I haven't released it. I have it ready, but I haven't played MM in a while and will only sort it out once I get back into the game. GT *is* an endurance series with this mod, just different to the actual Endurance DLC.

I was looking for a mod like this that gives a more strategic appeal to races where tyres and pit stops matters. Also AI seems to balance well their strategies and tyre choices.
But can you tell me why did you increased setup times? Now short practice sessions are shorter cause three changes take up to 60+ secs, I'm still able to get 98%+ setups but without doing a timed lap. Maybe increasing sessions times by 25% could help (15, 19, 25).
Another note, into the "DesignData" folder I've only "GTDesignData.xml" and "SingleSeaterDesignData.xml", "EnduranceDesignData.xml" shouldn't be there? I tried unsubscribing and subscribing a couple of times but only those two are downlaoded...

You have to activate it through the main menu. Start the game, go to the Workshop button at the top right, go to Assets, and it'll be there. Activate it, then go to start a new game.

subcribed, open game, dont see the mod at all in the new career screen. Tried variations of subcribing with the game open and closed and unsubbing with the game open and closed with a variety of restarts and nothing seems to be working. Do I need the other 2 mods subcribed to as well or just this one?
