The Basics:
Survival Plus aims to completely overhaul how ARK works, from your first minute to your last day.
  • Technology from the Stone Age to the late Middle Ages, but no high tech.
  • Professions: Over 1000 items are craftable and split up between multiple professions.
  • Custom building system with a completely new look (Feel free to request new features or designs!)
  • Extended Survival Mechanisms: Sleep & Exhaustion, Extended Food & Cooking, Custom Poison Weapons & more.
  • Custom RP Cooking - Dodo legs simmered in lemon juice with fried potatoes anyone?
  • Dynamically spawning new resources like tin, copper, limestone and coal.
  • Prospecting and Quarry System for endgame resources
  • Trading: Custom currency and Trading System.
  • Better farming with new crops, fertilizers and farming mechanics.
  • Extended crafting systems with more crafting stations, a new tool system and more.
  • New and changed taming mechanisms, but large dinos are not tameable to keep a survival feeling. Wild dino nests!
  • A more balanced and less "grindy" experience on vanilla rates.
  • Upcoming: Carts for players and dinos ( )
  • Upcoming: Rebalanced Dinos and upgraded Dino AI (partially implemented already).

@Justice: The smoke indeed indicates a supply camp, however not finding anything may be a trick of perspective, so make sure to look around - the smoke is a part of the supply camp actor, just like the light beam belongs to the vanilla ones, it cannot exist without the actual camp.

I do not know anything about the vanishing camps, this may just be them timing out like vanilla camps. Our official server has no such issues with the camps as far as I know, and I checked singleplayer where I could not reproduce this either - please let me know if this persists, it may indicate an installation issue on your server.

@afgm_D H: The spawning of trees and plants cannot be modded in any way, any issues there are from the vanilla game - a verify may help.
The loom and drying rack currently cannot be picked up as they were exploited, which has been reduced due to demolish only.
In regards to the missing ants I can only recommend a dino wipe, or to look up the steam forums if other players have issues with lacking ant spawns on the island.

Hi Tao,

We spoke previously about the hunter /survivor camps being dotted around. We found a second one(finally) and just like the first one, as we got within a few meters of it, it disappeared. I also noticed around the map there's this swirling/floating smoke in the air (as per screenshot). Yet there's nothing underneath it/on the ground.

Are these smoke 'signals' to indicate where survivor camps are meant to appear?

So no ants means you don't get anywhere in the mod after level 30 or lower, so sad but much fun. Keep up the great work.

Immersion thought - the drops have a cook pot in the structure, how about it being a broken copper pot that can only be melted down for one copper ingot or less? It would solve my problem lol

@Tao, Thanks that was not clear on the professions. I could not figure out the clay ball thing because I had less that 20. Duh!

From an immersion perspective I don't see why the loom and drying rack can't be moved.

I will be a bit more clear on the bug

Dinos are spawning fine. (Except ants!)

Plants and trees aren't fine. They are spawning where I set down my new house even though they should not, and they are still not spawning at my old place.

@Afgm_D H: Dino spawns are not modified, if you look up the spawn map on the ark wiki you should find ants and ant hills.
The respawning of trees and plants is handled by the base game, if everything there is destroyed they should regrow after a time - we cannot influence this.
There is an engram in your inventory to refresh the clay balls.
Profession engrams have to be unlocked in the journal, it's a default item in your inventory.

I finally made it to level 30:steamhappy:. Unfortunately even though all the trade engrams are 0 cost I can't get them. I click on each and it says "get this engram and all its pre engrams for 0?" I press accept and nothing happens.

I can't figure out how to make the dry clay balls wet again.

Possible bug. I built a house in one place then moved to another destroying everything at my old base leaving nothing there but the plants and trees are not respawning back there.

You can sleep on a sleeping bag but not the Thatch Bed.

You can lie on the Thatch Bed but not the Sleeping Bag. Nice that the Thatch Bed fits inside a tent and you can lie on it and get the shelter too.

As last time I don't have any ants so no copper stuff :(. I am playing single player on The Island, south west corner, There are usually some between flat top hil and bald mountain as we call them.
