This mod plays best with larger amounts of people. We encourage anyone looking to get the most out of it to join us on our official server.

The Basics:
Survival Plus aims to completely overhaul how ARK works, from your first minute to your last day.
  • Technology from the Stone Age to the late Middle Ages, but no high tech.
  • Professions: Over 1000 items are craftable and split up between multiple professions.
  • Custom building system with a completely new look (Feel free to request new features or designs!)
  • Extended Survival Mechanisms: Sleep & Exhaustion, Extended Food & Cooking, Custom Poison Weapons & more.
  • Custom RP Cooking - Dodo legs simmered in lemon juice with fried potatoes anyone?
  • Dynamically spawning new resources like tin, copper, limestone and coal.
  • Prospecting and Quarry System for endgame resources
  • Trading: Custom currency and Trading System.
  • Better farming with new crops, fertilizers and farming mechanics.
  • Extended crafting systems with more crafting stations, a new tool system and more.
  • New and changed taming mechanisms, but large dinos are not tameable to keep a survival feeling. Wild dino nests & unique taming methods!
  • A more balanced and less "grindy" experience on vanilla rates.

  • Rebalanced Dinos and upgraded Dino AI
  • Upcoming: Extended tribe system with a criminal bounty system, territories and more.

Feedback, Balancing and new Features

One of our main concerns is the feeling of "grindyness", so if you find something that you think takes too long or is too annoying - please let us know!
We will do our best to replace this with a meaningful mechanic instead of just blind farming!

Which configuration page are you referring to where I can find these default values? I'm looking at https://survival-plus.co/configuration/ and it has default values for dynamic resource spawn rates but only shows an example of syntax for the BuildNestChance.

@Taco I'm sorry to say we cannot help in this case, we do not have access to how these configuration files are handled internally. In the past server admins successfully remapped modded dinos, but this may be broken currently.

As for the default values, all dinos currently use the values specified in the configuration page, although we are currently experimenting with other configuration values on our official server as far too many nests spawn on default rates.

I tried the SPlus direwolf and rex as well. The vanilla rex seemed to work fine. I dunno.

Unrelated question @Tao . Since there are only three players on my server, I want to adjust the nest spawn rates with BuildNestChance_DINOCLASS. Could you please add the default values for each of the egg-layers to the configuration section on the SPlus website?

might be the fact that he's trying to replace a land dino with a flyer. Wyverns spawn in the air and not on the ground.

To me this looks correct - I have little experience with how the actual configurations work, but as long as the from and to class names are correct it should work with modded creatures just like with vanilla. If that does not work, it might be worth trying to remap to a vanilla to see if that does anything!

New to this and have a question on syntax for replacing one modded dino with another. As a test I tried:
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Trike_Character_BP_ResourceSpawning_SPlus_C", ToClassName="Wyvern_Character_BP_Lightning_SPlus_C")
While all the Trikes are gone (as confirmed by GetAllState), there are no Wyverns. I've tried with Direwolves and more, so I figure my ToClassName syntax is wrong.

I fear that's not something that can be fixed, short of us providing fulll replacements. The sleeping bag relies on the player character, which is customized in SurvivalPlus, and the same goes for the meat (it looks the same, but is a completely new item with new functionality like nutrients, etc).
The mod is a real feast for the eyes though!

Eco's Campsite Deco mod needs some setting adjustments to be fully compatible. Currently, can't Sleep in her Sleeping Bag and S+ Meat won't cook on her Campfire. It's a Great Companion mod for this one, especialy for Travelling Merchants and Hunters. The Log Seat alone makes it worthwhile. Nice to be able to sit beside the Campfire.
