Star Wars Bespin catwalk

Luke, I am your father! Eat your 'member berries as you reenact this pivotable momment in star wars lore.

So some technical notes; I realize the giant tube surrounding the catwalk goes on for like ever and there are some lights going up on the side of building. However I'm limited by the ceiling and floor in the steamVR space, so I totally had to make compromises here, as it's not as tall or wide as it is in the movies. There are also some objects missing here or there. Some blueprints of this would had been nice all I had to go on was the movie.

Steam VR also doesn't use any lighting, so all the specular and bumpiness is baked in.

Pardon the big building I'm just out of time on this project and didn't really get deep into that model.


I will come back to this project in the upcoming new year, to finish things and fix render errors, but I have to move on to some character based projects.

Anyways, enough of the exucuses, I hope you all like it.

Love this environ! I matched it with all SW controllers and lighthouses...looks really cool! The rancor was amazing lol

Thanks for your posts everyone, I was hoping this April fools joke would go off wel. It was a Rancor or a creepy evil little girl behind you, but I wanted it fun so I modeled the Rancor. I did protoype the Rancor jumping down on you from above, but found that people don't look up much when using after the first time.

The Rancor will stick around until the end of this weekend (I think most people don't play every day, so I was thinking of giving it some time).

I've done some updates to his model (his fingers are incorrect, I realized that way to late in the production process). I've also started prototyping a pit for the Rancor so he can get his own environment since half the work is done now.

I hadn't thought of publishing this environment with the Rancor, since he doesn't really fit in to the scene, but I guess if people don't like it they just won't download it.

At first I didn't realize that what was in the map was a rancor, I just kinda ignored it and tried not to look at it because it freaked me out, now I'm planning to use that bugger on my friends.:steammocking:
