PC:

• C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS\DefaultUser

You have to replace username with your PC User.

Copy and Paste in the text box: %AppData%\Avorion\galaxies

Note: Sometimes you need to show hidden folders in Windows. It is important to enable Show hidden files, folders. To do that;

1. Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
   
2. Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
   
3. Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.

How do I know which save is which?
Cut some of the saves out of the folder, then copy them back one by one to know which is which one.

Or you can just look at the date of the files.

This path only works on Steam, if you get it through game pass or on the Microsoft Store, it is encrypted.

Linux/Proton users may find their saves at the steam library path...

The steam library path is mostly found at ~/steam or ~/.steam (I put it on a mounted drive... /mnt/ea####-####-####-####-############/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/275850/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/HelloGames/NMS/st_################).

For the Mac Apple Silicon version, settings and local game saves are in ~/Library/Application Support/HelloGames/NMS.

The Library folder is hidden. To open it, click the desktop to make sure you’re in the Finder, press and hold the Option key, then choose Go > Library.

No you can't. The location is already set as a default. But you can copy the save game folder or files as a backup and paste in other location. Hope this helps :)

If playing via Proton on something Linux-based:

…/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/275850/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/HelloGames/NMS/st_$STEAMID

where $STEAMID is your Steam account number.

(The exact location will depend on where Steam is installed.)
