The information here will help you understand each custom origin, and how they are designed for.

- About the Chaos & Order Mod pack
The "Chaos & Order" mod pack is made for players who have enjoyed all the Arena-mode content, and wish there were more.

The mod pack adds 19 custom origins that have unique abilities according to their skill focus & playstyle.

Custom Origins

Most of these custom origins are centered around solo-runs & madness difficulty runs, as they are basically made as end-game content.

Some origins are strong from the start to the end, while some have a much steeper learning curve(like the Warden). But once you have a hang of it, you will enjoy M:PN Arena mode more than ever.

All origins have high imprint restrictions(between 5 ~ 10 imprints), but all of them start with far greater stat points. Some even start with unlocked skills, which cannot be obtained because of their skill focus & weakness.


Attachments & Forge Items

"Attachments" are equippment and weaponry that are designed for a specific origin, as well as explaining their background.

"Forge Items" are simply overpowered items that has nothing to do with balance of gameplay.

The one and only "Buffer" of C&O, "Anarchy". His ability to buff allies and additional clones makes one hell of an army. Other than having a LOT of throwables(and being a heavy-weapon/throwable dispenser), Anarchy's true strength comes from his team composition and positioning.

Tips:

1. Anarchy shines when you have a powerful hireling squad. Command your unarmed/melee fighters to gather around to give them the invulnerability buff before sending them in.

2. You can bump up any throwable ammo if you just equip it within your inventory. Drop it down during missions for your hirelings and clones.

3. The "fire it up" buff is not just a buff, you can also use it to inflict "confusion" onto enemies for a free execution from the back. This is quite useful against enemies like G03LMs.

The reckless, devilish plague, "Butcher". Butcher is a master of two-handed weapons, its attacks being mostly violent and wide. Its infection grabs are hard to connect but are quite useful. Butcher those grunts like cattle, convert those who you feel worthy on your side.

Tips:

1. Butcher is way more tanky than it looks, as it comes with natural armor and extra speed to run away from sticky situations. This includes infected enemies as well.

2. Peppering an enemy with damage slightly before grabbing them will reduce the amount of bites it takes for infection.

3. Many of Butcher's power attacks can also work as a mobility tool.

Tips:

1. Charge Rush doesn't work when you're being fired upon. Get rid of those spamming gunmen before you do any combos using it.

2. Carnivore is an advantage pusher. The more you keep your combo meter, the more you heal up during breaks and executions. You should turn to full offense when your health is high, and fully hide when your health's dangerously low.

3. Her normal executions does not regain her tac-bar meter at all, but has a slightly longer animation for you to heal up. You should watch out for snipers that deal high damage when your tac-bar is fully depleted.

Tips:

1. Coffin's extremely vulnerable against bullet spam due to his extremely low tac-bar defense. You should be fully utilizing corners and obstacles and a lot of hit-and-run tactics. His dodge rolls are extremely helpful due to this.

2. Coffin can actually shoot most non-auto guns faster than full-auto SMGs, only if you can spam your mouse that fast. This also means IF you're using non-autos, single wielding is way better than dual wielding.

3. The digging dodge(dash attack) is totally random, and can sometimes take you to out of bounds area. Think like there's an invisible circle around you, and whenever you dig down, the game selects a random spot within the circle and teleports you there. However, the game never selects an area that is unsafe to teleport, so it's safe to use them around trapdoors.

Tips:

1. You can actually cancel the fall down animation by charging up your attack just in time before landing on the ground.

2. Teleportation even works over gaps and low obstacles. It also works enemies that are standing higher/lower than you.

3. Samurai's attack pattern changes a lot when you're dual wielding. Single wielding is better if you want faster charge-up attack combos, dual wielding is better for dash attacks and dishing high damage against groups.

Tips:

1. Conqueror's ranged weapons are designed to be used between her guard, shield bash & throw attacks. The electric shotgun becomes a GOD tier weapon if you know how to time your shots. A simple chain of "Shotgun" -> "Shield Bash" -> "Shield Throw" -> "Shield Bash" -> "Shotgun" work wonders.

2. Remember, you can teleport with your shield attack if you're holding a melee weapon with it. With a ranged weapon, you cannot. However, you can fast shoot while blocking, and you can chain your shots with your shield throws for long-ranged combat.
What you CAN do with this knowledge is, you can have a melee weapon on your main hand, and holster a ranged weapon on your back. When you throw your shield, you can quickly switch to your back weapon, so you can utilize both advantages of melee & ranged with a single shield.

3. The amount of damage you deal from dropping down on enemies is the same as a Counter Bomb. So, if you have a slope that you can utilize, dive bomb for massive damage.

The sturdy two-legged tank of C&O, "Cyborg". All of his attacks are heavy, dangerous, and most importantly, ruthless. Terrain and obstacles don't matter for Cyborg as he can zip through the map with his charge-smash. Grunts turn to spaghetti sauce, Brutes and Mags are nothing but bigger sandbags for his fierce rocket punches.

Tips:

1. Cyborg will keep his previous direction of his dash when being fired upon, which will lead to him dashing in really weird angles. To prevent this, stand still for a brief second before dashing again.

2. You can do a 180 degree turn while dashing if you completely stop moving for a brief moment. You can also do this with a shield guard as well.

3. Cyborg's heavy unarmed attacks has an HUGE invisible hitbox, therefore mixing it with "zoomies" becomes extremely. However, zoomies does not work when he's being shot at.

The master of tricks of C&O, "Ninja". Ninja has a handful of hidden abilities that you can use, which makes her the most difficult origin to master. Her clones will be extra useful, disarming and knocking down enemies as they roam. There are a lot of things going on with this origin, even I can't remember everything.

Tips:

1. You know that...you can switch your main controlled character with "Ctrl", right? Your clones controlled by Game AI cannot execute enemies that are ragdolled. So...you can disarm your target to knock them prone, and quickly switch to your clone to execute it.

You can also "Throw" yourself onto a far away position by full dodging, then switch to your clone and command the previous character to stand there to quickly take control of both places.

Tips:

1. The "You must dance NOW" execution will stop your enemies from attacking you during the animation, while having a chance to make your opponent dance much longer than your full animation. This can be used to heal up during fights, deal free hits on a dancing enemy...and so on. It's extremely useful against enemies that are slow, especially Mag units.

2. Due to the game's system, there will be times that certain sound cues will be delayed or cut because of ambient sounds. This can sometimes lead to lags, so maybe don't overuse those slam attacks so much.

Tips:

1. Ranged executions will still let you shoot even when you're out of bullets. You can save your bullets by doing a backshot execution before reloading.

2. Enemies outside infiltrate missions are constantly aggroed towards your location due to the game system, but they still cannot see you. Some enemies will lose track of you and wonder off before the game updates your position.

3. The clothes are purely cosmetic, so taking them off doesn't mean that you lose your invisibility. Feel free to costomize your cool character!

The not-so-sneaky but deadly assassin of C&O, "Dagger". Dagger will change your Arena Mode experience completely. She can backstab and assassinate enemies who turn their back on her, as well as fly across the map...infinitely. In fact, she is indeed my magnum opus, and my favorite origin to play as.

The nimble, deadly duke from the otherworld, Harvest. Harvest starts with two unique scythes that gradually evolves by sacrificing blood from your enemies. One will change its form and attacks, while the other one grows and grows. It is advised to invest at least one of his scythes so he can deal with stronger foes and bosses in the later waves.

Both of the scythes works as a boomerang when thrown(requires the shuriken-ark), and can be leveled-up during the battle, unlocking new/powerful abilities.

The "Black Pawn" is a shape-shifting scythe that changes the attack-pattern & damage of Harvest when a certain amount of blood is spilled by its target.


The "Harvester" is a scythe that gains significantly increased stats and size when being leveled up. There are a total of five levels, each requiring more bloodspill than the last.

Tips:

1. You do not collide with enemies and teammates, therefore gliding through enemies can be easy as cake. Simply dash through an enemy when they're confused and execute them from the back. G03LM killing has never been so easy!

2. Once a scythe has been broken, they are considered a "scrap" item throughout the mission and cannot be accessed through the inventory until you exit/restart. That means you cannot retrieve your scythe if it's dropped far out of your reach. You'll probably want to use melee attacks rather than throwing it near cliffs when the weapon durability's low.

Hardest origin to master in C&O, hands down. Havoc is an explosive specialist who can blow up enemies high in the air for crazy combos and executions. This origin in particular requires a lot of movement knowledge...and a LOT of practice.

1. Your wire has way more uses than you think. No matter how far your enemy is, they will be dragged towards you, meaning you can execute them mid-air, even with mine/wire traps. You can combine it with your tac-bar ignoring shots for massive burst damage as well.

The widest splash attacker & magic master of C&O, "Ice-Age". The arcane items that come inside her war chest allow her to use unique powerful magic without any consequences, and her unarmed special attacks and charge-up attacks turn the whole battlefield into an icy deathtrap. Ice-Age is like a glass cannon that can shoot all 360 degrees at once, so be mindful of placing her before spamming powerful attacks.

The most fragile and unpredictable origin of C&O, "Virus". The virus can transform enemies into toxic-filled zeds in an instant, and those zeds will also infect nearby enemies as well, diving and spreading toxins all over each other. Infected zeds are not only dangerous to enemies, but to you as well due to their toxin and erratic behavior on certain missions. You'll need to manage the swarm by keeping a distance and reducing the numbers with your charge-up attack.

Tips:

1. Virus is designed to pursue an opportunistic playstyle. Use ranged weapons to pepper spray large enemies, and go in for quick executions whenever your zeds confuse them.

2. You should treat your zeds as disposable, but it will be wise to keep some just in case. Zeds usually don't wonder off unless they detect an enemy, so infect one or two enemies far away from your main squad. So they can be useful later on.

3. You can also use your second charge-up attack to launch your zeds far away. It's not a bad strategy to scatter groups to divide aggro.

The highest spike damage dealer of C&O. Warden requires a totally different approach of combat. All of his melee attacks are sluggish, but will obliterate any enemy that stands before it(including bosses). You have to consider when to cancel an attack and disengage, or fully invest on a strike even if it means losing a single health bar.

Tips:

1. Although being sluggish, Warden is very much a berserker character. You need to sacrifice your health for big damage and attacks, and regain your lost health through knocking down enemies with your kicks/charge-up attack.

2. Having a large sword comes with many benefits, as well as heavy downsides. You need to utilize open areas to not make your blade stuck between obstacles while attacking, and hold an enemy with your curse if an enemy comes way too close.

3. If you're ever stuck on a door or bunch of stairs...just use this trick.

The omega of the C&O history, Supernova. This is the complete opposite of the other end-game origin. Ridiculously mobile, full-invested in close combat...and doesn't require any weapon/modding to be powerful. If there's a being that can stop an army of fully-upgraded death machines, it would be this one.

Tips:

1. Ranged executions will still let you shoot even when you're out of bullets. You can save your bullets by doing a backshot execution before reloading, and keep using the D.P revolver with this mechanic.

2. The highest cost for bribing an enemy is 120$, the highest cash reward dropped when killing an enemy is 600$. Cash drop chance increases when an enemy is brutally killed, and when your combo meter is high. You gain very high cash rewards after missions. I'm just saying it.

3. This is a sandbox-type origin that is centered around grab executions and messing around with enemies. Have fun bribing bosses with small money that cannot even afford a single i-phone and watch them ruin their very own squad.

The trident is a 2 hand melee weapon, cannot be equipped one hand even with high strength.

Oh. Yeah, that is 100% correct.

Virus was heavily buffed rather recently.

Before, every zed you infect would splash and deal heavy dot damage, including you, and could explode out of nowhere and instantly wipe your corpus. It was fixed so they no longer deal damage to you and each other except for the death explosion.

That said, it is still possible for melee weapons like sawblades and chainsaws to instantly delete you & custom missions with enemies that have execution immunity will greatly diminish the usefulness of your zeds...so the origin is at least a 3 star difficulty imo.

thanks for the guide, but 5 stars for swarming virus is wild. if anything, it should be a one star. I can bite a couple of people with zed bite and im all done, because those zeds just keep biting more, growing exponentially. or there is an old version i didnt know about that sucked
