Descrição
This was my attempt to translate the chess-like game featured in George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels (Game of Thrones). Being a huge fan of the man and his work, I wanted to try and give his game the best translation I could. Working with my good friend (and studious Martin scholar) Nate Stephens, I adapted the game to include everything mentioned in the book into a rules set I found believable for a game made during the emulated time period, while also keeping the games in mind that Martin has mentioned as inspiration during interviews.

The game was designed to be 3D printed, and you can download all of the pieces and the rules PDF here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:92172

The rules are included in the mod as well (fit perfectly into the Rules and Notepad sections)

If you're interested in a 3D printed version, but don't have access to a 3D printer, CarryTheWhat sells them in their Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/listing/197950420/game-of-thrones-inspired-cyvasse-game-3d?ref=sr_gallery_1&ga_search_query=cyvasse&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery

Be sure and check out our blog for other games we've designed, including Pocket-Tactics, which is also available in the Tabletop Simulator Workshop.

@Fyre555 Well, the book mentions "alternating tiles of (red color, blue color, green color) and only gives inication that the mountains, castles, and pieces can be arranged, BUT... I totally agree that would make for a more interesting game. That total tile randomization is something we use in our Pocket-Tactics games, and I have a game that I've based off this system that uses total custom tile placement called Zonez (it's basically just Cyvasse re-skinned as sci-fi and norse myth). If you're interested, I could revise these and load them up here.

I don't know if this was intentional but the tiles of the board can be unlocked and moved around before the game starts to more accurately change the landscape as i understood was supposed to happen from reading the book. Such as moving the water and forests. The way I've played after trying this out has just been a blast and I love this game already more than chess because of the complexity it has. The only problem is I want a physical board but I don't know if the 3D printed version you've provided allows you to change the positioning of the tiles or if the tiles are fixed. Every picture I can find online of this board is just the same arrangement of the tiles and I find it extremely boring with that setup. If I can get it with the changeable tiles and these same pieces it would make my day.

@KeiserZA Yeah, let me see if I can track those down and re-download/fix them on my end, see if that helps. I'd hate for your print hours to go to waste. I'll message you on thingiverse when I have them uploaded.

Hey there. So i have some problems with the files. When slicing, some of the files become all funky, with open gaps between layers (eg the heavy horses have empty space between cartwheel and neck). I have redownloaded it twice now, and a friend did the same (he also has the same problem with the same pieces. We tried fixing them with Netfabb, but no joy. Do you perhaps still have the original STL files that you can email/share on dropbox or any other sharing please? I have printed all except these few pieces, and it would be such a waste to toss the hours of printing over a few miss print pieces

No hexes. This is how it should be right here.

Ah, yeah, it's tough to get that to work. You can use hidden areas though, and that works pretty well.
