Lone World is innate until you get more than 2 party members.
Strategist with the Heavy Enemies add-on is the intended experience. The add-on works for Tactician as well. When I tried to make this change to the core mod it divided the community. You can also enable some of the built in difficulty options. Talent Injector (Normal) is my usual recommendation.
You could try turning Lone Wolf off using the Config Orb. That might do something.
There's a base engine bug that can cause the cap of 5 with skills but I've never heard of attributes before. If it's the same bug it should only affect point addition in the mirror itself and you can add the missing points outside of the mirror. If that's not the case something else is wrong.
One last thing, I know you made Ifan's Soul Wolf scale so he won't be relying on Infusions.
But when pet power is on, I can still infuse Ifan's Soul Wolf with Elemental Infusions at lower levels. When it becomes a direwolf, the Elemental Infusions can't be casted on it.
Maybe make it so that you can cast elemental infusions on the direwolf so it won't feel weird that lower level wolves can become elemental and the direwolf cannot.
If you're using Sundries. It's infectious. By that I mean it will stay on and edit other saves until you close the game and restart it. ie Loading a save with Sundries on will transfer to another save without Sundries even enabled. It doesn't make permanent changes to the save files so not restarting the game with the fix on might be causing the confusion.
Enabling the fix then closing the game entirely before loading any saves should fix it.
Still didn't work after I load Crafting Overhaul above Conflux. Strangely, when I removed Sundries Fixed, it started working. Though it only works for my earlier saved file. I must have done something wrong with my latest save since I can't get the staff to work even if I remove all other mods except for Conflux.
