Mars

fictional map based on a Mars hightmap. Best played with settings for an American game (to get the desert landscape).

The 59 towns on the maps are distributed in a way that you can build long range high speed trains between the major cities. Around those (like Moeris or the cities at Lake Helias) local rail traffic can be build to the suburbs.

All town names are taken from real Martian landscapes or craters.

Preview pictures were taken from a running game, about 30 years after game start. Several mods were used.

An additional version of this map with random industry has been added.

Experimental map size must be turned on (experimentalMapSizes = true in settings.lua).
Inital road creation must be deactivated.

@riccardobaehren38: Choose "Free game" and on the extended settings (where you choose the mods) select the "American" style on the lower part. Then you have the desert map.

ok if I go to an American game, I can not activate the mods or disable.
