This is my personal AI mod that tweaks AI behavior and makes it a bit better (or less stupid at least). It alters what AIs research and when, improves production of many countries, improves templates & unit variety, fixes some bugs, and introduces more scripts to major AIs, so they can deal better with some common situations. It also modifies some historical AI focus paths to better match history.

This mod is generally compatible with other mods that don't modify vanilla tech tree.
NOT Ironman Compatible. Should not be combined with other AI mods, like Expert AI.

General Changes to all AI and Fixes:
- More accurate historical focuses / wars – Phoney War happens
- Many AI countries have had their research priorities and unit templates altered. They should mostly focus on and build what they did historically (while also being a bit more of a challenge)

- All AI now know what a Motorized division is and how to build it
- Improved how AI changes economy/trade laws (AIs will stop limiting/closing economy for no reason)
- AI should now prio Manpower/Economy/Trade laws in this order, not the other way around
- Most major AI nations will build and use transport planes
- AIs will pick certain appropriate Spirits in historical mode (and not just pick them entirely at random)
- Improved how AIs research Naval/Air/Tank modules, they should now have all the required techs in time to be able to produce the historical preset designs
- AIs should care more about low stability and will always try to improve it above 50%,
- AI should use War Bonds decision more
- AI will not ignore the one-time war support decisions
- AI should not ignore army mutinies/other crises if the first attempt to solve it fails
- AI should waste less PP on various things if they need it for manpower/economy laws
- AI Countries should again send volunteers to Spain (for those without La Résistance)
- Minor nations won't be repeatedly seizing civilian trains for no reason and just because they can (and lose lot of stability in the process)
- AI Countries won't raise recruitment higher than Service by Req., when capitulated (so that their industry actually works when liberated, they can't switch back from Scrapping the barrel)


Germany
- More historical AI behavior – will not invade Benelux immediately following a war with Poland, but Denmark first and Benelux later = Phoney war (about 09-1939 – 04-1940)
- won't call Axis minors and Italy to war too early (in historical mode)
- if Italy fails to pacify Ethiopia, will avoid a faction with it to not get drawn into offensive war too early
- historical AI will prefer certain historical advisors/companies more and focus on building submarines
- will research and use heavy fighters (and later jets), heavy tanks, tank destroyers, mechanized etc...
- slightly improved buildup strategy – build order, advisors, army training & template priorities
- AI will produce much more Aircraft overall, which should make it a more long-lasting opponent
- AI should try to avoid losing all aircraft fighting UK
- AI will be more likely to try a naval invasion of UK
- will be more aggressive towards Greece and try to capitulate it before attacking USSR (hist.focus)
- AI will stop sending its army on sightseeing sea trips around the world, when they're needed in Europe
- reduced German AI desire to accept central/south american minors into its faction, while still being at peace (so something like warmongering Mexico attacking El Salvador does not draw Germany into early war with other majors)
- added some scripts so it should no longer declare war on 8 different nations ('One at a time')
- should build more synthetic refineries on demand

USSR
- Changed the AI historical focus path, so it includes some historical things
- added many real Aircraft Designer presets replacing the generic
- AI will hire some useful advisors/companies and not waste all PP on colorful propaganda posters
- Soviet AI taught what Anti-soviet pact means and that fighting Poland helped by Germany, Japan, Allies, and half of world at the same time in 1939 is a bad idea
- AI won't mindlessly prospect for resources it already has plenty of (frees up lot of CIVs)
- AI should take the decision to remove Anti-Soviet debuffs, if it's losing a war
- AI should occasionally use the other decisions to decrease paranoia as well during the purge
- AI should mobilize its economy and increase conscription faster during a war

USA
- USA in general focuses more on Air/Naval techs
- will research & build synthetic refineries, if Indochina rubber sources are threatened
- AI will keep higher Military/Civilian Factory ratio when at war
- will build a larger Air Force, including a lot of strategic bombers and long range heavy fighters
- will produce more armored divisions and some motorized divisions

Japan
- will pursue Naval Techs & Doctrines more
- More historical Japan behavior – will attack USA later (not in spring 1941)
- will select Supremacy of Will focus instead of Supr. of Technology (seems more historical to me)
- Japanese economy will not collapse so easily due to lack of convoys; If the number of convoys drops, AI will start putting more dockyards towards producing replacements
- If it gets isolated anyway, it will at least try to build few Synthetic Refineries

The United Kingdom
- Will produce more Fighters and aircraft in general
- Will research and use heavy fighters more
- Will produce strategic bombers in large numbers
- Will keep more of their troops in the home isles when enemy invasion is possible

France
- AI historical focus changed to be more in line with actual history
- will think twice before declaring any war if it still has 'disjointed government' idea (non-historical games)

Other countries
Fixed the Airplane designer UI giving wrong icons/models to USA and Soviet Union, improved presets
Italy will keep its starting 'tank' divisions, and continue building/using light tanks
Fixed Finland losing Petsamo in the Winter War
Turkey will stop joining allies in 1944 automatically (can choose to join Axis if it's winning)
Romania will be reluctant to join Axis in historical games
Poland - will not be AFK until tanks invade Warsaw (prompted AI to train more units when threatened, and update its default infantry templates)
Czechoslovakia – same as Poland, will train more units and try to improve its templates sooner
Nationalist Spain & Vichy France - will send volunteers to Germany against the Soviet Union
Italy should leave Switzerland alone (hist.focus)
Ireland will always choose a neutrality path (hist.focus)
Switzerland will remain neutral (If you lack 'BBA' DLC)
Hungary – increased focus on motorization

Could you make so that China annexes XSM and Sinkiang when it is a puppet of Japan? If you played this, you should know exactly what I'm talking about.

Well based on what the old Paradoxos Mod Manager (no longer updated) conflict detector is saying, they aren't compatible. They are editing a lot of the same files. Irony Mod Manager also detecting a lot of conflicts.

Thanks, I looked at it, however this isn't primarily a bugfix mod and/or rebalance mod. I do not modify vanilla files/values other than changing AI preferences, chances etc... Unless it's something easy-to-fix directly affecting AI.

But these mods might be compatible with mine.
