Cave again, reminder, we're still in space so don't, I repeat, DON'T go breaking through any walls or you will have a serious breathable air shortage very quickly.

Anyway, it's been brought to my attention that there have been some power outages which may cause certain engergy dependant equipment to fail from time to time. Greg tells me this should not in any way cause any problems for you though since you'll be testing the gravity chute, which will take you at least.. forever, I'm not kidding, there's no way out.. you're stuck here..untill you die.

Cave Johnson, we're still in space.

This was mostly a test to see how well I timed events work in different situations so there's a fair amount of stuff going on behind the scenes on this one. My original plan was to make it even longer/bigger but it says I already have too many items in my map so, too bad.. (behind the scenes stuff can take up a lot of items)

Apart from that I still think it should be a fairly enjoyable map though.

In answer to your questions, I had read the description but missed the "explanation" for failing beams. I like it.

Yeah I saw the tutorial link you sent me. I've actually been through that process before, and it generated the avi, but I couldn't figure out how to include my microphone audio.

However now I've learnt a bit about Soundflower, LineIn etc I may be able to fix that. (Yes I am on Mac).

I will try 44 again soon - and 45, 46 too..

Thanks again for helping each other out, this feedback back and forth is great! Talk to you soon!

Also, did you try the tutorial from the forums I Linked you? I did notice you're on a mac (from what I could tell) so maybe it's different for that. But once you get the hang of that creating high quality videos within the game itself is insanely easy. (I haven't tried voice on that though (I know I can get that to work in L4D but no idea if singleplayer portal would support that))

I have no idea where you're located (I'm guessing UK if I got your accent and youtube account name right :P ) but I'm over here in ye olde Hollande and usually online 5pm-1am (that'd be +1gmt I think)

AAAAAAND I just read my first comment back, that last spoiler should read: So yes, you do need to get the CUBE first

about the conversion gel, you don't need a ninja jump like that to get up there, you can just shoot a portal on it's back wall from the ground when you're on the pre placed splotch of gel

Once you're up there I'd suggest you look to your top left (you even shot a portal there 10:16 in part 2 one time but didn't go through sadly). If you're up for it that should help you get along a bit further.

Hello again, thanks a lot for that video. One question first, did you read the description? I sort of "explained" why the beam keeps failing, it's definately not a must to read it though, just wondering :P

I see a lot of things are indeed pretty unclear. Sadly, as you noted yourself, you can't really control the antlines, you can cut them off entirely but in most cases that would make it even worse I think.
I do like how you concentrate on getting the sphere first, I hoped people would soon give up on getting that first and seeing if there's a way to get the beam to stop failing.
So yes, you do need to get the sphere first

Hi there - thanks again for your blindruns on "Concentration" - hope to catch you online sometime so I can ask you more about that.

Meantime I thought I would do some blindruns in return.

Here is my first attempt to solve Science Sphere 44. I must admit I got kind of stuck.
part 1 (link to part 2 is in the video description

Maybe because it's late, I kept getting muddled about the cube and the sphere and how they related to each other . The timing mechanism is interesting but I agree with the previous commenter, not very visible. It wasn't obvious at first whether I was controlling the beam direction change or a timer was.

The other problem is the antlines, so much criss-crossing it's hard to follow them.

Oh and I think I found the easter egg, didn't manage to do much with it though!

Talk to you soon.

Thanks, there aren't that many timed events in this map though (only three at the moment), mainly since they take up a fair amount of items and the editor doesn't like it if you use to many items in your map.. so yeah, kinda limited by that for now.

Interesting. I like the idea of timing mechanisms, and think they played out well - though I wish their implementation were clearer, but that's a limitation on the editor, so whatevs. Good work :)
