Quick FPS Boost for Low End PCs

This guide is for those of you with brave little toasters that might not meet the required graphics card specs.

Don't forget to rate!

*Let it be known that I no longer have access to a lowend PC (RIP dell business laptop) and this guide is kind of old, so with modern operating systems things may be a bit more or less optimized.

Boost FPS by forcing Dx9

1. Ensure that you have ran Tomb Raider and configured the in-game video options to your liking at least once
2. Open the start menu and type regedit in the search funtion or the run function

3. Open the Computer directory and find HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Crystal Dynamics>Tomb Raider>Graphics
   
4. On the right find Render API, double click it
   
5. Ensure the value is Hexacimal and replace the value with 9

Noticed some people struggling on High setting on a 1050Ti? You must have a lot of junk running on your PC coz I just tried it with my 1050Ti 4GB and getting 40-50fps on Ultra with shadows turned down one click and FXAA at 1080p, lowests drops are in cut scenes and close ups of Laras hair where it dropped to 25 ish. But 3060 is eating this game alive even at 4K lol

Stopped by to reward the author. I run the game in Ubuntu Linux, thank the gods for Feral Interactive! Running on HIGH preset with Normal combat, works great for me @ 1080p. I've tried the game in lower graphic and resolution settings, still looks all right to me so fellow toasters, PLAY ON!!! My humble rig is a 4.5 year old i7-8750H/GTX 1050 w 4 GB VRAM no name POS lappy. M.2 SSD. 5 fan pad to help keep temps sane.
