Basic Overview

This is a guide about the Altis Life 'gamemode' for ARMA 3. One thing to note is that all Altis Life are different in different ways so this guide may not be 100% accurate but I will keep it as much so as I can.

Altis life is a Life Sim where you RP one of two modes (You can swap between both). Police Officer and Civilian. Police Officers have to enforce laws from Speeding to Murder whereas Civilians have to earn an Honest living and usualy later become Rebels.

Police officers earn money for Arrests of Wanted Criminals and Tickets but Civilians earn this through Fruit Picking, Mining or Drug Running etc.

1. Starting Off

When you spawn in on Altis Life you will start with some money which is usualy about 5k - 15k and earn a paycheck of 500 - 750 every 5 minutes. The problem is that paycheck is not great if you want to do 'fun' things and live your life so you need to do a job.

Initialy picking Fruit but before you rush of you need to find a town you can spawn at that has fruit near, a market, a general store, a cloths shop, a car shop and if possible the DMV(Read Below for Explination). Good examples of this (on the server I played, this may vary) are Kevalava and Athira as they meet all the criteria.

When you have done the above you will need to buy a quadbike, the largest backpack you can and a Drivers Licenece (DMV - This is only needed if you may be randomly searched by the police or commit an offence and they search you to find you do not have one, I got away without one for 1 week but you could face a fine so it is safer to buy one, they cost 500 and the fines cost more). Then you will need to drive to the fruit field and scroll on a tree and collect fruit and then go up to your quadbike and press 'T' this will open its inventory so fill that up and then refill your inventory and afterwards proceed to the market in the town you came from here you will need to sell your fruit on you and get the fruit out of your car.

I recommend you follow this process till you have a reasonably stake so you can buy the biggest possible backpack, cloths if you want, a bigger car e.g. Pickup or even a Truck (Truck licence will also be needed) and also you will have something to fall back on if you died and lose your items. (Somewhere areound 50k is good, Cars etc. can be upgraded between picking to increases efficency)

2. Legal Money Making

Before you start illegal methods I recommend you get up your bank balance so you will have gear as protection from raids etc.

There are a number of legal earning methods:
Copper Mining
Sand Mining
Iron Mining
Diamond Mining
Oil Mining
(There may be more or less depending on the server)

For these methods you will need to buy a pickaxe and most likely a licence to process the material (Else face a large fee each time or not be able to). The best way to choose is by finding a good route between one of them (Main Roads) so that you can do runs quick and turn a profit.

If you are just trying to increase your income I reccomend starting with copper and this is a quite quick, has a cheap licenece and you make a decent profit but you may prefer others.

If you have a quite large sum of money by now I recommend buying a Truck and a Truck Licence (Trucks often get searched incase they are carrying drugs), with this I would recommend Salt as it is more of a main road route and with your truck having a large capacity you can make a good profit but You Have to buy the processing licence at the processor which costs around 10 - 20k.

2. Illegal Money Making

These methods are illegal so you will need to be much more careful as being caught by the police meaning loss off illegal Items, A ticket / Arrest (Which may lose you your licences etc. depending on server) but they are more profitable in most circumstances.

Methods of Illegal money making:
Cocaine
Heroin
Weed
Turtles (Mostly unprofitable, you have to buy a boat, scuba suit, underwater rifle and ammo)
(These may vary depending on server)

The key thing to do on a server is find the illegal route that is not often used by people and is possible harder and less profitable but will be Much Much Safer. Another thing relating to this is checking police stations as on the server I have played there was Police Highway patrol right on the main heroin (This was the most profitable) route.

To do illegal methods of money making you need to buy training (much cheaper if you do multiple runs but often lost on restart) / pay a fee each time which if often very expensive. For these methods you can either take a truck (If you can I reccomend a Hemmit as it is well armoured) but these attract a large amount of attention but will make a massive amount of money can be made, this will be most possible if you go on the quiet route but in a car you will make less but be safer although following an obvious drug route may still lead to searches.

2. Police Making Money

As an officer of the law the only ways to make money (other than paychecks) are to arrest wanted criminals (What you normaly would do) or do drug busts (You cannot camp drug sites but this is most profitable e.g. if you drive up and down a drug road and pull them over for speeding, recless driving etc. if they are commiting such a crime as they usualy are and you then have reason to search and impounding a car gets you the full value of its content and the person should have a bounty to get you money).

2. Rebel Money Making

To become a rebel you must go to a rebel base and buy a licence this costs about 75k and you get some of the best items at a price.

Ways to make money:
Illegal Methods
Robbing the Federal Reserve (Very dangerous)
Ransom (Not payed often)
Police Deals (e.g. to stop an attack on a city)

These will get you killed quite often but give good profits and are the most enjoyable (See Reverve Robbery Videos below to see the fun and awesome!)

3. Legal Activities

As a Legal citizen all you can really do is drive around, run around, jog around, walk around and talk to others / police. It is always fun to mess with police by annoying them etc. or doing something that is not illegal but very close to such so if they try to arrest you then you can say they are notn allowed and they have to let you go :).

3. Rebel Activities

As a rebel you can do 'the best' things in game and see the most danger. These include attacks on towns, reserver robbery, hostaging etc. As a rebel gang you often have some of the best weapons so have good chances of survival at anything that you want to do as you can usualy beat the police so you can do anything from randomly flying aircraft to races to trolling (You cannot be arrested for being a rebel if you do not have a weapon, anyone with a weapon will be shot on site).

Summary and Things to Note

To generalise your best starting off with legal methods but as soo as you have a float start illegal methods for the most money they become a rebel and get together as a gang so you can do some great things or earn some money and then join the police stopping criminals and rebels.

Things to note:
.Read server rules before playing as you can be banned for reasons even if you do not know as you are often expected to and you can tell people when they are breaking them e.g. Once on my server an admin broke one of the rules . . .
.Do not VehicleDeathMatch as this is often a straight up bannable offence even if you are being shot at
.Do not RandomDeathMatch as this is also bannable always make sure to say something e.g. get on the ground or be shot, if they do not get down you can shoot
.As a rebel always announce attacks on cities and give time for preperation to be made and civilians to leave, try not to shoot civilians they often support the rebels
.Find out the fines for crimes on your server to avoid being wrongly fined e.g. 10k when it should only be 1k

Bank Robbery (Video Examples)

Here are 2 examples of a good bank robbery, some of us die but with some skill and co-ordination we escape with minimal casualties and the money (1) and in the second the bank robbery is kicked for high ping and we cannot restart the robbery so we just see how long we can live.
