Orange Mint Menu Video

Description
Orange Mint Background Movie

The movie and music that play at the menu are handled seperately by the game.

This means that if you replace the movie with a custom video that also has sound, the original menu music will still play in the background.

These instructions show you how to replace the original movie files AND how to delete the original menu music.

You need GCFscape in order to open the VPK files in this mod. Download it using this link: https://download.cnet.com/GCFScape/3000-20432_4-75182007.html

---Important!---

When something is wrong with l4d 2, people can usually fix issues by verifying the cache files of the game.

Please be aware that when you do this, files that have been deleted or have been replaced by other CUSTOM files will be in fact redownloaded.

So everytime you verify cache files you have to follow the installation instructions I describe below again. This is unfortunate and rather annoying, but this is just how it is.

--Installation instructions--

1. Extract the bik file, "orange mint.bik", to your hard drive. This is done by right-clicking the bik file in the right box when you open up the VPK file with GCFScape. Press "extract".

2. Go to the folder where the background movies are kept: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam Games\SteamApps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\media".

3. Inside the media folder you find 5 background movies: "l4d2_background01.bik", etc., etc., "l4d2_background05.bik".

4. Cut and paste these 5 bik files where ever you want them to be. These files will be your backup!

5. Copy and paste "orange mint" inside the media folder.

6. Make 4 more copies of this file, so that you get a total of 5 bik files.

7. Rename the files to the default names, that is: "l4d2_background01.bik", etc., etc., "l4d2_background05.bik"

8. Go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam Games\SteamApps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\sound\music".

9. Inside the music folder, cut and paste the folder called "l4d2" to a spot where you want to keep this as a backup. This is the folder that contains the menu music,
so you want to get this folder out of the folder structure of the game.

10. Start up your game to watch and listen to your new menu movie.
