The Great River

Kuvaus
A balanced but environmentally varied eyecandy map for 8-player PVP. Explore a massive, detailed river delta with hidden paths, secret treasure, and multiple diverse biomes. There are no restrictions on building or research, meaning you are free to transform this idylic landscape into a blood-drenched hell on Earth if you so choose. Resources are uneven to encourage thinking on your feet, some players will be close to many relics while others will have natural defenses or an abundance of resources.

Because this map is pretty spaced out and has some winding paths, the computer isn't on its best game here, but it can play.

UPDATE: To support users who are having workshop issues (and who doesn't?) this map has also been added to AOK Heaven at http://aok.heavengames.com/blacksmith/lister.php?category=multi under the same name. It should be available on or after 4/15/13.

You can also try to unsub, validate your game cache, and sub again. That fixes this issue for some people. If that fails ask the devs in the support forum, they answer questions pretty fast. Good luck!

Yeah the file wouldnt show up. i looked under scenarios and never saw a "the great river" assuming that whats its named in-game. ill try again without skipping the intro movies. hopefully i can get it to work, this map seems awesome! sounds like its similar to Riv Civ in age of mythology. :)

I can confirm that changing your player number changes your position. It might seem like it's not if you usually play as a player other than 1; the game thinks you're in the 1 spot until you change it for THAT session.

Derpex: you should be able to change your position by changing your player color. I'll check and see later on today.

Andrew: do you mean the file won't show up? I've heard (and this sounds weird even to me, BUT) that skipping the intro movies can delay your subscription content loading. I don't know if this is true. Anyway, to play the map, choose Scenario as your gametype in an MP or skirmish game and load this one when prompted. It can't be played as a campaign because it's not wrapped in a campaign; that would cut it off from multiplayer.
