Spring Kingdom

Omschrijving
The kingdom has split into fighting factions in castles over a long winter. Use a weapon triangle of soldiers to re-unite it by force.

This game is still being fine-tuned.

Rules:
Goal: Join 4 castles into a single area of your own fighters.

Players take turns consisting of the following:
Deploy:
Place a fighter from your hand anywhere on the board (other than on your opponent’s card.) You may also replace one of your own cards on the board with it. If you replace a card that’s vulnerable to attack, you must give the whole group you are replacing as prisoners. You may only place on a castle if you have a card next to that castle.
Attack:
If your opponent has any cards vulnerable to attack, you may remove one from the board and take it as a prisoner.
Draw:
Draw a card (you should have 3 after drawing). If your deck runs out, shuffle your discard pile.

What makes a group vulnerable to attack?
A contiguous region of cards of the same color and suit are considered a group (even a single card). If you have a group of cards of one suit bordering a smaller group of an opponent’s cards, of the suit that your group beats, every card in their group is vulnerable to attack. Swords beat shields, shields beat bows, and bows beat swords. A group 4 or larger may be used to attack groups no matter their size as long as they are weak to the group’s suit and adjacent.

Prisoner exchange:
During your turn, you may release a prisoner.(placing them in your opponent’s discard pile). In return, you may play a card of your choice (from discard or deck, shuffling after.)
Or, you can release four of the same suit to take another turn.

Setup: Each player places 3 of their own cards, one of each suit, in front of themselves for board setup, and gives another 3 to the player on their left as prisoners. Then, draw 3 cards for your hand.
Then, set up the board:
Place the starting tile in the center of the table. (2 player games: add an empty castle on it). Players take turns placing a tile, placing a castle on the tile, and then choosing one of their cards to place there. Repeat this 3 times. On the second time, the player to your left places their own card instead of you (they choose which card to place, you still choose the location).
