You only have to [Verify integrity of game files] to receive the update.
Don't confuse yourself with Distribution Installer Packages vs Integrity Check Files. They are not the same.
His mod uses my launcher.
Uploading exe files are always a bad idea for COPYRIGHT Software
Its not a copyrighted executable, its MY compiled launcher executable.

Its not a crack! A crack modifies another application on a instruction level.
... runs your edited exe without steam in the background
Steam are always running in the background, otherwise the game wont work.
I did mods with TemplarGFX (this overhaul thing). Believe me I spent too much time on this stupid UE3 game and know a lot of bugs.
Uploading exe files (even on GitHub) are always a bad idea for COPYRIGHT Software . On ModDB for example you can´t upload exe files, or better you shouldn´t do this.
It´s actually a crack. ACM runs with your editied exe without steam in the backround. :-)

You should known that the "admin trick" don't work for everyone if you read the guide description and I still stand my ground about its not best practice to run applications with administrative rights unless you know what you are really doing...
How you know the ACM's executable have no bugs? Do you have the source code of the game? The bug should have correct years ago if the problem comes from the steam itself.
BTW.
The exe got no bug, it´s steam that got the problem with the acm.exe. This problem existing since 2014 and came with a steam client update. Late after the last officel patch from gbx in 2013.
Nothing bad will happend, if you switch this to admin.
