Want the bulletproof date samurai to be... Really bulletproof ?
This mod is for you ! TThey have decent stats, inferior to Yari Samurai, but much better armor and more HP (making them resist bullets) which gives them utimately superior defense to yari samurai. They will do very well in melee if they were not wounded (shot at/took arrows) but the longer the fight gets, the more their HP decrease, and the less they resist.

60 men per unit, 4 HP (excellent against musketfire), resistant in close combat even with low defence skill because of their armor.

Is possible to have bulletproof nodachi samouraï? Because it take a true samouraïe tocharge into a volley pof musket fire

They actually have a great damage resistance ! Indeed, they'll loose head to head with katana samurai, but are superior (not by visible but hidden armor stats that make them bulletproof). That's why I think scare ability would make them overpowered.

The scare ability is to powerful just had one dbp samurai route a whole enemy army.

Yeah, the bulletproof really works, the problem is that the men rout as soon as they are in close combat.

No they are not.. That's kind of wierd ; check if they do have scary ability otherwise it is a bug. They are not used to have this ability anyway.

The unit is very nicely bulletproof, but...I'm noticing that ALL enemy units that seem to come into close contact with the Date bulletproof samurai panic and break into instnat retreat.

Are they supposed to do that?

Actually, they more not "very slowly" but clearly in a slower way than other men. They are much more solid against gun fire and have a pretty nice melee defense (due to heavy armor & HP, not to skill)
