First of all I have to say that the idea is not mine, but Domcoppinger’s. I have used his mods “More Dragons”, “Even More Dragons” and “Most Dragons” for a while, but after some time I found myself quiting Skyrim, deactivating the mod or activating another, and starting Skyrim again, everytime I went into or out of a town or village.

There had to be an easier way. This mod works in a similar way as Domcoppinger’s mods, but switching can be done ingame through the use of a spell to which a script is attached. After casting the spell you are presented with a menu from which you can select one of six different timings of dragon encounters: Most, More, Many, Default, Less, Least. Most, More and Many are similar to Domcoppinger’s mods Most Dragons, Even More Dragons and More Dragons respecitively. Default is the same as Skyrim’s default time between encounters. I have added Less and Least in case you want to have the least chance of being disturbed by dragon attacks during an important mission. Most important however is the possibility to change the setting ingame.

The spell tome for the spell can be found under the table in the ruined house in between Fort Greymoor and the Western Watchtower.

Be careful using the More and Most settings, at least inside villages and towns, as there may appear two or maybe even three dragons at the same time. If you’re in bad luck they may annihilate an entire village.

@johntx94:

Are you using any mod using the same area? Otherwise you may have to use TES5Edit to see if another mod is interfering.

Spell Tome not appearing in the ruined house. Downloaded the zip file and moved the extracted files to the game's data folder no change. Help please? Thank you.

@ScalesBloodShed Western Watchtower is the tower where you fight the dragon in Whiterun, after returning from Bleak Falls Barrow. Fort Greymore is the big fort just west of the tower. There is a destroyed house in between them.

If you don't see the spell book under the table in the ruined house, it means that the mod is not active. If you don't see the spell, it means that the BSA file is missing in your Data folder. If so, you can download a ZIP file from my personal website:

http://elder-scrolls.nl/files/ManageDragonEncounters.zip

Extract the BSA file from the archive into the Data folder.

Also, I would advice anyone to install Arthmoor's Unofficial Patches (Skyrim, Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn and/or High Resolution). These patches resolve quite a lot of bugs in the original game or its DLCs.
