Unreal Tournament 3 HOSTING Guide

This is a Guide for Unreal Tournament 3 CO-OP Hosting, I have been trying to get UT3 to work in CO-OP
for a long time, and found random websites that people gave info on how to get it to work, so i went and added
everything which got me the CO-OP in UT3 to work

PORT FORWARD

You will need to change your router’s configuration,
and forwarding ports,

All are UDP ports.

HOSTING ERROR MESSAGE

"Your network configuration may not be compatible with
hosting matches. Please check your router's manual for
instructions on setting up "Port forwarding" or a "DMZ
server".



Go into

My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config

Open UnrealEngine.ini or
UTEngine.ini in notepad,
Search for the line

StunServerAddress=www.stunserver.org

change this to

StunServerAddress=stun.faktortel.com.au:3478

If you do not have the "StunServerAddress=www.stunserver.org"
in that notepad, just copy and paste "StunServerAddress=stun.faktortel.com.au:3478"
it inside.

Note: Seems like somewhere between the writing of this Guide
and 2016, i noticed that "UnrealEngine.ini" have changed to "UTEngine.ini"

JOINING ERROR MESSAGE

"Sorry you do not appear to be authorized to play this game on steam at this time".


Hosting a multiplayer game, via a steam version, and you change the gametype. Changing the

gametype will give an error and the host has to restart steam before anyone can connect.

JOINING a FRIEND/PLAYER

You can do that by adding the Player's IN-GAME Name onto your Friend list in UT3,
or by pressing F10 and type in

"open xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"

Without Quotation Marks
Where X is the IP, e.g. 41.151.XXX.XXX

I mean, can you get banned for this? This is an online shooter and there should be an anti cheat.

@AT☢M, No UT3 does not use Valve Anti Cheat so you are free to modify files

This works, tested today (24/04/2021). I opened all the ports you mentioned on my router and also added them to my firewall. Besides that I've added the config line just in case, started up UT, logged myself in, started a new campaign as public and gave my friend the IP and he joined successfully :) Thanks for this, you're a legend! Also, there is proof because if you go to my achievements you will see that I got the achievement for completing 1 mission in co-op.

Trying to host a game but it never shows up in the Internet List of game servers available. I have opened every port that is remotely related to UT3 and I get nothing. Tempted to run it in a DMZ. Hate to open it up like that..

I followed the guide, started new campain and after 5 minutes, no longer, noticed unusual nick in player list, been silly enough to ask: r u real dude ? :) Thanx for this guide, and feel free to 'open 93.80.157.249'
