Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box DLC Information
Por SlyAceZeta
This guide is a historical reference for the DLC for Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box. Criterion Games abandoned the Steam version of the game, so I took it upon myself to explain the situations behind the game's DLC packs.

Introduction
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box is no longer available and you cannot obtain its DLC anymore. This guide merely serves as a historical reference.

If you're looking to play Burnout Paradise on PC, I highly recommend purchasing Burnout Paradise Remastered. It's a visual upgrade to the original game and includes all of the DLC. This is the first time Big Surf Island and Cops & Robbers are officially available on PC! You can regularly find Remastered on sale for USD$4.99, which is much cheaper than purchasing The Ultimate Box and its DLC when they were available.

Party Pack
The Party DLC was the first DLC for Burnout Paradise. It allows for a pass-the-controls group party in the game to complete challenges.

This DLC is included with both The Ultimate Box and Remastered, so there's nothing you need to do to unlock it. Simply launch the game and select "Start a Party"!
Bonus Vehicle Pack
This section contains information on four separate console DLCs: Legendary Cars, Time Savers, Toy Cars, and Boost Specials. On PC, they were bundled together into one DLC set called the Bonus Vehicle Pack.

History
As of August 2018, this DLC set is NO LONGER available for purchase.

Before then, it was available on Amazon and Green Man Gaming for USD$9.99 for a few years. In October 2015, EA enabled the pack for direct purchase for an even lower price through Origin. That was a neat surprise since it was something they didn't have to do.

Now that Burnout Paradise Remastered is out, it's clear that EA would rather people purchase Remastered since it comes with the full game and all of the DLC (except for the Time Savers). As stated above, you can usually find Remastered on sale for a cheaper price than the Bonus Vehicle Pack's old Amazon price.

If you did not purchase the Bonus Vehicle Pack before it was taken down, there's no way you can get that content in The Ultimate Box anymore.

What's Included?
  • Boost Specials Collection
    • Carson Extreme Hot Rod
    • Hawker Mech
  • Time Savers
    • Unlocks all 75 non-DLC cars
      • Also unlocks some Carbon variants
      • Also unlocks all Platinum and Gold paint schemes
    • Unlocks all 4 non-DLC bikes
    • Unlocks all Burning Routes
  • Toy Car Collection
    • Toy Carson GT Concept
    • Toy Carson Inferno Van
    • Toy Hunter Cavalry
    • Toy Hunter Citizen
    • Toy Hunter Manhattan
    • Toy Hunter Takedown 4x4
    • Toy Jansen P12

Cops & Robbers
The Cops & Robbers DLC added a new online multiplayer mode called... well, Cops & Robbers. It allows players to race using Cop cars and bust other players playing as the Robbers.

This DLC was never released for The Ultimate Box. If you want to play Cops & Robbers on PC, you'll need to pick up Remastered.
Big Surf Island
This is the big one. The Big Surf Island DLC adds an entire new island to the eastern part of the map, with new events, new cars, new collectables, and more.

Just like Cops & Robbers, this DLC was never released for The Ultimate Box. If you want to play Big Surf Island on PC, you'll need to pick up Remastered.

Vanity Pack
From 2009 through 2014, a mod developer known as "smilingfrog" actively developed a mod for The Ultimate Box called "Vanity Pack" which added all of Big Surf Island's new area to The Ultimate Box. It also added the Cops & Robbers vehicles (but not the multiplayer mode) and other additional features.

I used to recommend Vanity Pack and link to its website for The Ultimate Box owners who wanted to play Big Surf Island's content. However, Vanity Pack stopped receiving updates in May 2014, and the website completely vanished by December 2020. The domain name expired and was picked up by a scam advertising site, so it's been removed from the guide for user safety.

Now that Remastered is available and includes Big Surf Island, it's not worth the effort to try to squeeze Big Surf Island into The Ultimate Box anymore.
Conclusion
  • Party - included with the game
  • Legendary Cars - unavailable
  • Time Savers - unavailable
  • Toy Cars - unavailable
  • Boost Specials - unavailable
  • Cops & Robbers - unavailable
  • Big Surf Island - unavailable

Burnout Paradise Remastered already includes all of the above! The only DLC that Remastered does not include is Time Savers.

I used to end this guide with the following message: "Dear reader, I hope this guide helped you in your quest for getting all of the info on this game's DLC. I'll see you in Paradise City :)"

But now, this edit, at the end of 2021, will likely be my last edit on this guide. That's not a bad thing--I'm very thankful to EA for doing the right thing by including all of the DLC in Burnout Paradise Remastered, and it makes it simple to recommend, especially at its constant sale price. So, I'll end it off with this new, final message:

Dear reader, I hope you found this guide to be an interesting history lesson, and I'll see you in the remastered Paradise City :)

Like with any game, your mileage will vary. Remastered is not outright broken, but it does have a few absolutely annoying bugs that really should have been patched out by now. If you're not against modding Remastered, there's a couple of community mods that fix some of those game-breaking bugs.

With remastered outright broken and not receiving further updates to rectify the situation, it seems that the stable solo-player experience (sans some DLC) on the older version of the game is what remains for those who do not have a console copy with DLC installed.

since i completed Remaster via EA play, i must admit that Ultimate Box include most interisting DLC - Bikes, and... thats more than enough. yeah Legendary cars and boost Specials are cool cars, but thats only 6 cars and honestly they are just some fanservice(and they too OP for regular gameplay). Toys cars just silly.

Online not a big deal here and pretty much dead. But some coop challenges are fun with friends. Big Surf Island, well... pretty much generic, and mostly same thing that we already have in vanilla.

so this is it. 6 fanservice disbalanced cars + generic small DLC map with buggy + dead online. if you a big fan its worth trying at least via EA play. if you are just want a replay/play game, this version is more than enough.

As of posting this, the website hosting the Vanity Pack mod has been replaced by a default advertising site. Vanity Pack hasn't been updated in six and a half years, so I'm removing the link and calling it dead. At this point, just move to Remastered.

The dlc pack for Ultimate Box is no longer available.

AngelitoVersh, you paid for The Ultimate Box, which did NOT include the Bonus Vehicle Pack, Cops & Robbers, or Big Surf Island. You don't have any rights to that content.

Remastered is on sale for $5, which is *less* than what you'd have to pay individually just for Big Surf Island.

I am still confused.
I paid for "Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box" but for X reasons I didn't download the DLC. So my question is, if I have paid for "Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box", do I have the right to download the content (DLC, not the base game) from "Burnout Paradise Remastered" or do I need to re-buy it? :steamsad:
