BlackICE - Historical Immersion Mod
Black ICE is a mod which aims to overhaul HOI IV in order to make a more immersive, historical, and challenging experience for the player.

First up, make sure you subscribe to the GFX addon. This basically adds in all the event images for BICE.

It is recommended to play BICE with Historical AI Focus on. Ahistorical gameplay will lead to unexepected stuff and might even CTD.
If you report them to us we will fix them.

BICE adds in a huge array of new units, equipment types, country specific armor, aircraft and ships for all the major nations.
National Focus trees have been worked on for all the majors and many of the minor nations, often thanks to other mods which have generously allowed BICE to use their NF trees.
Laws and politics are greatly expanded and allow for great detail in how you choose to run your nation.
We have also worked on and expanded the OOBs, templates, and production for all nations. Some techs will provide new units, some will provide upgrades and some will provide new equipment for existing units.
To help offset the costs of equipment specialised factories can be built such as tank factories, artillery factories, small arms factories etc. These map buildings will lower the cost of the associated equipment.
The AI has also been improved, making it better than its Vanilla counterpart. It does due sadly not use the added naval and air trees, but always use the generic ones. We intend to get that working in the future.

BICE HOI IV is a huge and expansive work. If you played HOI3 BICE you will know what you are in for. If not, be warned BICE is not for the faint hearted. BICE tends to frighten casual players and takes a very dedicated and demands a serious and mature strategy gamer's attention.
To put it simply, BICE isnt for everyone. If you like high detail, complicated and multiple choices, options, and possibilities, BICE is for you.

Do you think for your next update you could remove the exclusivity between National Steel Car and Send in the Zombies in the Canadian Focus tree? I always found it really annoying to have to make a choice between manpower and economy. I don't have the waking the tiger or man the guns expansions so I don't know if this effects it in any way.

playing as UK, 1944. was trying to get firefly cant cuz usa doesnt have sherman so i switch over and look usa doesnt have any land doctrines research, no tanks no planes, no air doctrines and barely the naval doctrine and barely half of industry done.... wtf love the mod tho just letting ya know something is wrong

@Erich.... When I start my war on the eastern front I usually have about 120/140 divisions and the only supply issue I have is on the Romanian/Soviet border because of all the Romanian troops and poor infrastructure so I do not put those troops in place until ready to DoW. Hope there is something here that may help. Good Luck !!

@Erick...hmmm....100 divisions on the Russian front from Baltic to Black sea should not be a logistics problem at the start of the Russian war if you are relatively evenly spread out, later maybe but not at jump off. You are fully mobilised with war economy I presume. There are aids to supply throughput. Postmaster minister -4%, Military Academy -10% Research Logistics supply I, II, III. -10% each time (I think). Make sure all divisions have supply company support, make sure you do not run out of Supply/Logistics equip, Elite Officer training -6%, when things are really tough choose Supply/Logistics Corps in NF tree -6%. Control partisans as they degrade supply/infrastructure mightily if not suppressed though that would only come into play once your well into Russian territory.

Why AI is cheating so much in this mod? Both SU and germany have losses about 10M manpower yet they switched back to volunteer only and still have 1M+ manpower pool... this make war endless but not fair..

@Chiron thats what i am asking, even with 100 division from poland to romania i cant attack cause of supply, so im probably missing some tech, would u suggest some tech that improve supplies line.

Sorry if was asked before but BICE scale is the same for the divisions width? I mean, to use the 20 or 40 width of have more options? Thanks in advance!

Playing as Reich up through Autumn 1938, the population listed on the main page (to the right of Hitler's portrait) never changed from 67.94m. My recruitable numbers went up despite not changing any of the laws, so I assume it is simply a bug that the display doesn't update to reflect actual pop levels?
