I'd like to give a huge thank you to the following creators for letting me include some of their ships in this release:

Jetpack Inhibitors

This mod uses a feature that will cause player jetpack inertia dampeners to cut out within 1200m of these encounters. Within 400m, the jetpack will be completely disabled. Both of these effects are removed outside their respective distances. This was added to discourage players from charging after these ships with a jetpack and grinder to capture them (which can upset survival balance in the early game) and instead having to engage these encounters with a ship of some sort (grids are not affected by this feature). To disable the effect, you will need to locate the Inhibitor Field blocks on the encounter and disable them.

Air Traffic & Surface Occupation Together

While using Air Traffic and Surface Occupation at the same time, it is possible that cargo ships will deviate from their flight path and visit a ground station if it belongs to the same faction as theirs.

Dependancies / Required Settings
  • This mod requires the Modular Encounters Spawner mod for ships to be able to spawn in the atmosphere. RivalAI is also required for their Autopilot AI and Behaviors.

Does this mod generate enemy ships on the Moon? I've seen enemy defense installations on the Moon via Surface Occupation. Just wondering if I will see docking like I did on the earth-like planet. Thanks.

Am i doing something wrong? I dont see any spaceships anywhere. Been flying around for ages trying different MES related mods. I found a rover driving around, and i see some red ships like occasionally i guess, but i dont see any ships flying around like i imagined. Is this not supposed to make the game feel more dynamic and alive?

Yep, you can use chat commands.


Replace name with the name of the spawngroup. A list of spawngroup names can be found with chat command:

Is there a way through MES to queue spawn for a specific ship on the Air Traffic list? Want to salvage a Intruder Mk III but have been waiting for hours.

Hi, can i set the Air Traffic MES mod to only spawn on the alien planet and not earthlike?

Was a known bug in the old spawner / RivalAI mods, but have had reports that it’s been corrected in the new spawner beta. That update is coming on Friday

The other day I had ships stop despawning at the end of their atmosphere flight path. Is this a known issue or perhaps a new update bug?
