**THIS MAP IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED**

I am pleased to release my remake of one of my favourite Battlefield Vietnam maps, Operation Irving.
This map has been totally reworked from the ground up to hopefull make it an enjoyable experience to play. There are graphical changes aswell as gameplay based changes. Hopefully these are all for the better but I have no doubt more work is to be done.
So if you play this map, please leave your feedback so i can improve Irving to be the map You and I want it to be! :)

To open the map in game type 'Open VNSU-Operationirving_B1) in console

Played this a few times for both the US and NVA.
Seems interesting and has some good pottential, but the biggest issues atm are some slight performance issues (mainly down to the fact I'm running the game on a toaster) and I do think there could be a bit more asymetary.
Someone else suggested more tunnels for the NVA, and I agree. Maybe not connecting every point, but some tunnels spreading around meaning they can suddenly pop up unexpectedly in some areas.

The map is awesome but on such a big map open map the VC have very big Disadvantage mostly cause this game aight Battlefield and they don't have access to Vehicles. Some Balance regarding spawns would probly be best for now.

Also, unless the Vietnamese forces get AA, or T-54's like in BFV, the U.S. should not have any attack helicopters IMO.


Please consider making Operation Hastings or Siege of Khe Sahn next :P

The hill that the temple needs to be taller and generally larger, with a spawn point on it as well. A MG position in or out front of the temple would maybe help too. Mr Karabz's feedback I want to agree with.

I'd stretch out the size of the map and push the American base further away. I also would recommend changing the game mode to TE instead of Supremecy (if it is possible) to get more of a feel of the original, with waves of U.S. air assualt troops coming in to push the Viet Cong out.

Great work though. It's such a joy to see a map from a game I loved so much ported to a new game. Thank you for all the hard work you have done.

Thanks for the input, I've been on holiday for the past week but I will carry on working on it next week. There will be alot of changes in the next update which should make the map alot better :D

and u should make it more dday like with tunnels connecting all the site.Spawns for cong should be on sites untill the U.S take a site the a fall back to make it harder and sand bags or walls of wood in more areas it dosent have to be the exactly like the original.
