Gilded combines the finest elements of a JRPG with a narrative that redefines the genre. In this classic-inspired game with turn-based combat and featuring three different difficulty modes set in a re-imagined retro look and seasoned with dark sarcastic humor.

The Journey:

A mysterious epidemic grips an isolated land and afflicts the sister of a young man named Gregor. Desperate to save his sister, Gregor recruits his friend Jack to seek out the fabled Djinn and pursue the legend of the Wishmaker. Gregor and Jack recruit other unique allies with interesting skills and abilities, but the group find that they will need more than just their expertise in exploration and combat as the journey progresses. While advancing towards his goal, Gregor must face ethical dilemmas that pit his moral convictions against his devotion to his sister. Meanwhile, the words of a cynical and malevolent narrator continually haunt Jack, assurances that his choices will mean nothing, and that ultimately he is doomed to fail…

About the Game:

Gilded is a JRPG inspired by NES and SNES classics Earthbound and Final Fantasy. Gilded challenges the narrative conventions of the genre as strategic and tactical decisions are made under a cloud of moral and ethical dilemmas, all woven together with sarcastic humor. The game features three modes: a Casual Mode that allows beginning players to experience the game, a Normal mode that features challenging puzzles and turn-based combat, and a “Hardcore Mode” for gamers who are looking for the challenge of facing tougher bosses with no easy way out. Players in all modes encounter engaging puzzles as they explore in search of the Djinn.

- Players choose from three modes that set the difficulty of the combat
- Classic turn-based combat that challenges tactical thinking
- A trove of hidden lore that rewards the player’s thorough and thoughtful game play
- Over a dozen unique party members can be recruited, each with interesting, varied, and original abilities
- More than 20 dungeons filled with engaging puzzles and over 100 types of enemies
- Original artwork and soundtrack
- Players can experience an alternate ending and enjoy extensive post-game content

props for the original art and sound, although the art seems blurry and undefined, maybe sharpen it up a bit?

I can't believe the time custom-made assets look worse than the standard RPG Maker assets has come. If your narrative is amazing and genre-redefining as you state, find an artist.

What if my cat wanted to play this game and one of the first things it sees is a message calling it a human?

This game is racist against cats.

Only use frames from your YouTube video for screenshots if you want to convince people that your game looks even worse than it really is, or if you're super lazy and just couldn't be bothered.

What a surprisingly verbose description for what is essentially another awful RPG Maker submission.

"redefines the genre."

Redefine what exactly? New ways in cutting corners in RPG Maker? Because I'd believe you if that's what you meant.
