Source 2 Physics Demo

Description
Warning: Single player only! Do not try to use this map in open lobbies, it won't work properly and is going to crash SteamVR Home for some or all users!

This map features a couple of contraptions showing the improved physics engine Rubikon in action. Currently three 'islands' are implemented, featuring a giant pachinko machine, a ball pit with a mixer and physics destruction at different gravity levels.

This level also makes use of the new day-night cycle introduced in Source 2. If you look up at night you might even see a shooting star!

If you have feedback, bug reports or ideas for additional physic contraptions please leave a comment!

PS: I'm sorry that I've discovered the edge-bridge tool in Hammer.

THis was a blast. Wild. I missed playing it the first time.

I tried the reversed gravity and then changed to another environment. The gravity stayed like that,I had a good laugh seeing everything going into space :)

Did you use "Source 2 Hammer" for this? if so, how?

good info, i assume the old 25k requirement to buy the physics license is now not needed then.

@phundio

Source 2 doesn't use Havok at all, so yes, this is all Rubikon.

thanks for putting this together. were you able to find any evidence of rubikon or this still using havok?

Physics calculations are done by the CPU and it gets really unpleasant once you go over the limit.

Love this demo, I have been wanting to see source 2 engine VR physics in action! Can't believe how frightening it is standing under the barrels pachinko machine.

Question - Is it possible to add the option for unlimited spawn? so we can test our systems to the max? I got a 1080ti wanting to chew through some serious calculations... :)

Cool as hell and a great hype tool for future Source 2 games. Here's a video if you would like to add it.

Really impressive! I love physics demo stuff. Especially the low gravity looks fantastic.
Nicely done!
