Mod ID: 916788716
★ ★ ★ Please rate the mod! ★ ★ ★

By default, instantly spoils all raw and cooked meats when placed inside, including prime and jerky!

Spoiled meat lasts 10x longer inside the bin

Level requirement: 1
Engram cost: 0
Crafting cost: 20 wood
Crafted in: player inventory
Craft/Repair XP: 3.7

Optional Custom Config Settings
  • All settings are optional
  • Default behavior is to instantly spoil
  • Setting to 0 is the same as excluding the setting from the config
  • Spoiling multipliers are floats, SlotCount is an integer, HideVulture is a bool!
  • Use a number between 0-1 (ie: 0.5) to spoil faster but not instant
  • 1 will be default spoil timer
  • Anything higher than 1 actually slows down spoiling ;)
  • SlotCount <= 0 will default to 15, anything else overrides slots, setting to 1 will result in 1 slot!
  • HideVulture=true to disable the beautiful beast :(
PUT THIS IN GameUserSettings.ini

@Werkrat, I'm playing on a private server.

@Martok are you playing single player? dedicated?

Hide Vulture config option is not working, vulture still showing up on the bin. Have tried setting it to hide, show, destroying, picking up, making a new one, nothing is working to hide that blasted bird.

Anyone know if this works with S+?

The pulling system in SuperStructures is working very well. I can transfer via Transfer Gun or direct pulling as much as the inventory can take hold of (even thousands of stacks at once with Tek Dedicated Storage which can hold 10,000 stacks), except the Spoiling Bin. Using the Gun or pulling raw meat manually always pulls a maximum of 300 stacks.
Also, it would be nice to have engrams in the bin. It's not possible to pull anything without an engram or at least one piece of anything in its inventory.

I just built a new spoiling bin and placed it. Still it shows an inventory size via front description of "0/15". Accessing the inventory is not sufficient; the bin has to be used (-> spoil some meat you put in) to change the shown value correct to "0/500". Just tested that it doesn't matter if you leave the area and come back for a change.

@van Grunz I can't really do anything about compatibility with other mods, if their pulling system is broken, it's on them. This is literally just a box and the other mod is responsible for interacting with it.

The display for slot count might be a little bug to look at. If you pickup then place the box after changes the number of slots, does it show the right amount?

Got another issue:
Having set inventory size to 500, it still shows in the description when you look at the box that it would have 15 slots only.

Got an issue with SuperStructures Pulling System. Using a transfer gun oder pull raw meat from a crate into the spoiling bin transfers, on the first run, only 120 item, on the second up to 300 stacks, while having 500 stacks of total size via INI.

Additionally, sometimes the description text while looking at the bin shows the standard 15 slots. A server restart later, the text is shown normally (0/500).

Read the description:
What's not in the list doesn't spoil, eg. berries. You cannot put them into inventory anyway. But you can put spoiled meat in for conserving purposes.

Anyway, awesome mod! Thanks for this!

The neat vulture is really cool!

Does it work with everything that spoils or just meat?
