New Website for TheMadChemist's Games
Release date: May 2017
Greeks and Orcs don't always encounter one another, but when they do, they don't get along. Build cities, lead armies, trade, hunt and much more in this objective based sandbox. Play singleplayer, or get help from some friends in multiplayer as you battle Orcs.

This is a spin-off of my still-in-development DyVox Sandbox. After developing many different game mechanics, I decided to try to take a few of the most complete ones and build a coherent game around them. The results, Greeks Vs Orcs.

My goal has always been to create a sandbox game that is focused on accomplishing a goal. Many of my favorite sandbox games often left me wanting to do more with the sandbox elements, to really put my creations to some kind of test. Fulfilling that requirement has been the focus of this games development. - NOTE: Site is a WIP and the game is not yet available.

Two modes are currently available, Survival and Sandbox.

Build a colony and defend it against an endless onslaught of Orcs. The number of Orcs per wave slowly increases, with a siege every 5 waves. Survive as long as you can and don't get too attached to anything you build. Great for a quick game with friends and to get used to the mechanics.

All features are available in this mode. Currently one 3 square kilometer map with ambient orcs and settlers. Settlers will build Greek style villages, you can join one or create one where you're in charge. Orc war parties will pillage and grow with their successes. Leading an attack on one of their camps at night can help cull their numbers.

Nothing set in stone but I am working on getting a website set up where I'll slowly make all my projects available for download. I'll post when the site is up

So do you have any random date when it can be released ?

I see what you mean, my wording was probably too vague there. I was thinking "new" as in mechanics that haven't been used before and "fresh" as in a setting and art style that differs from current trends (as in making a medieval city building survival game would be the opposite). I want to create games people other than me want to play, just need to find where interests overlap.

Honestly, it might be a good idea to focus on one of the two things there; new or fresh. New is something we haven't experienced yet while fresh is like dusting off that old silverware, but we all have our opinions. :)

Sorry, the project was shelved for now for a couple reasons. One, general lack of interest and also because there are many similar types of games out or in development right now. I have unique mechanics but it needs more before I will feel confident it brings something truly new and fresh to the table.

Maybe include DLC or extra content to let player play as Orcs. I like building games, I hope there is lots of options for building.
