[V92B-W] GTA IV Parachute

V92 Base, Weapon Extension, Parachutes, Grand Theft Auto IV

This is the GTA4 parachute as a usable weapon. This requires you to equip it via the weapons or entities menus, and you only have one parachute per weapon, so make it worthwhile.

While the parachute weapon is equipped and you're falling, press +attack (Default: Left Mouse Button) to deploy it.

  • Usable GTAIV Parachute Weapon
  • Weapon Entity

  • Weapon, so you can restrict it to certain classes/jobs
  • Uses parachute ammo, so you can't spam it
  • Has nifty audio sounds

If you subscribe to my Unarmed weapon, I think it fixes the view model. This parachute seems to be the odd one out that uses that model as the view model instead of my normal blank one.

I'm completely re-writing my whole base and it's about halfway done, so it will be a few more days before I get around to updating the parachutes, but I am working on it.

According to my quick add of the line counts, I've got about 8000 lines of base code to update, followed by mass-updating all my child weapons to my new ballistics systems and the other new goodies.

The parachute system will be getting a hard look at in the next V92 Base patch because it's mostly about bug fixes and quality of life updates. I'm working on adding multiple ammo types like FMJ and hollow points as swappable ammo types next. A Fistful of Frags pack is almost done, and I'm planning on updating the melee base to make it a little more fun to use by adding a bit of dynamic attacks into it. The ammo system is the only thing functional right now in my latest local copy of all of these ideas, but it's going to roll out to all of my weapons all at once in a major update. I also am trying to get in contact with the makers of the Emplacement add-on so I can make it into a turret base.
