The game
This is intended to be a game about building and managing your very own ship. Each ship module is a separate object with it’s own health, energy, resistances and functions. Your ship design matters. Since all ships are physics driven, positions of engines, armor and any other module greatly affects maneuverability of your ship. Cannons blocked by other ship parts will not shoot. Performance of most types of guns, shields and other modules depends on energy you give to them and this can decide the end of battle.

Features present
  • multiplayer via ip (pvp, coop, whatever)
  • 3 very basic weapon types (projectiles, beams, missiles)
  • ship building out of blocks of various shapes
  • ship energy management (3 different energy sources, 3 different energy consumers, some configuration options)
  • single randomly generated scene with asteroids only (aka “seamless world”)
  • 3 degrees of freedom (moving on a plane, rotate around single axis)

Features planned
  • 5 basic weapon types (projectiles, beams, missiles, drones, mines, each with multiple sub-types)
  • 6 degrees of freedom (moving in 3d space)
  • multiple randomly generated scenes with asteroids, NPC ships and stations, accessible at the same time by connected players (aka “huge universe”)
  • building of production stations
  • simple generated quests
  • bosses

I also want to clarify that right now the game was not yet intentionally optimized and lacks such important and basic things like AI (this is why game footage was recorded in multiplayer), and for obvious reasons once I will switch from 3 to 6 degrees of freedom, ship editor will get an overhaul, and before that moment I don't plan to add any new blocks.

For now I will work on the networked part of the code, to allow players to be in several different scenes at the same time, but nothing fancy. Hopefully I will finish this part in march 2017.

I think "build thingy and fight" is kind of genre now and not every game in this genre is a Reassembly or robocraft clone or whatever. You don't want to have only one game of every genre ever released, do you?

looks like reassembly but with multiplayer coop and 3d building great potential !
