WarMage is an indie strategy game with a fantasy setting.

Summon your army, build and expand your kingdom then fight against orcs, bandits, lizardmen and draconians. Be careful because each enemy has different skills and abilities and to win you have to know their weaknesses.
Your heroes are different too so their team composition is the key to victory.
In WarMage sometimes you may encounter enemies who will require a new approach. Having a single team is not enough, you will find many heroes useful in different ways. Some units can be deployed behind the enemy, some can summon monsters in combat, and some will cast a spell that makes others faster.
Expanding your kindom is important because you can use the gained land to build farms. Grain can be used to feed your troops and the excess can be sold.
The lower level heroes can be placed in the Training Halls to gain experience or can be placed in the mines to gain gold even when you are offline.
If you find a tough opponent you may build a Watchtower and attack it with ballistas from afar to weaken it before the attack.

Try the text adventure and send a single adventurer to the underground tunnels.
Collect XP and epic items from there while you are away from the computer.
In the dungeons the adventure will depend on your hero’s abilities. For example if you see in the journal that the hero always fails at climbing walls you can replace him with someone with more Dexterity. If you see that he always gets killed in battle you may replace him with someone with better equipment and higher level.

• Various heroes and creatures with unique skills
• Quick auto combat battles where formation is the key to victory
• Adventure mini-game where you can collect equipment and use it at the battles
• Battle against an AI player who will build, fight, and equip artifacts just like you
• Build walls and settlements to contain the spread of enemy area

Planned features
• Hot-seat and online coop and pvp multiplayer game modes
• Endless mode where your army will fight through hundreds of enemies
• Improved resource management, crafting

• At the creation of WarMage I used assets from the open-source game Battle for Wesnoth legally and with permission.
• WarMage is already available on Android.

Legend: you can't steal something that is free. Wesnoth is open-source but I have permission from them, too. So I would say they shared it with me. But not only me, many other developers are using their graphics.
Here is the official Battle for Wesnoth forum if you do not believe me:

"So you have more the feel of telling a General what he shoud do"
Exaclty! I planned to have a "Retreat" button and some spells that would turn the tide of battle when used at the right moment. The idea is to choose the composition of the army, prepare everything and then enjoy the results. And when the battle takes too long you do not have to assign every single soldier commands for 10 rounds just decide when to cast spells or when to retreat.

Soon I will have a demo version that will be playable in web browser. I think this will be ready next week.

Stolen it all from westnoth have you?

Yes when you are intrested in good strategy mechaniks realy give westnoth a try, but make you own game with your own mechaniks. The Battels look like they choud be fun with mutsh planing on how to set up the army. So you have more the feel of telling a General what he shoud do and not the perfect command ofer eath unit likt in RTS.
Lizard Wizard Studio  [author] Mar 7, 2017 @ 1:30am
Tusoalsob: yes there are already some nice combat mechanics in the game:
- casters can be interrupted if attacked while casting
- archers cannot shoot at close range
- big strong but slow units can be stopped by the blob summoner lizard shaman by shooting a blob on them

To be honest I did not play much Wesnoth :) Only started the tutorial there. I want to make a game that uses graphics and sounds from Wesnoth but the gameplay is different. But if you say that the strategic gameplay is good then I will check it.

Looks intresting, the combat system choud be the winner in the game when you can make it a bit deepe so you can try out many differen units combinations anf tactics.

With you knowing battle of Westnoth it can become even better when you can emulate the deep strategies of that game and the units sstats.

If anyone wants to play this for free then I can give demo versions to beta testers. All you have to do is give me feedback and reports bugs. Message me if you are interested.
