Description

* * Welcome to the Spectator Mode * *

If you want to assign specific units to the AI, you can check out the AI General Mode.

The 2 mods are not compatible. You will have to choose one or the other.

First things first, all credit for this mod goes to Hambango[forums.totalwar.com] from TW forums who created this. I uploaded it here with his permission to publish and maintain it.

So, this mod adds a Spectator Mode for the times you feel that you've had enough with micro-managing your army and just want to lay back and watch the carnage unfold.

A litlle showcase can be found here.

How it works

Well, it's simpler than you might think. All you have to do is hit Shift + F9 at the same time on the deployment phase or during the battle. This triggers a pop-up window showing the advisor. You can now toggle between the following modes by pressing Shift + F9:

- Spectator Mode
The AI fully controls your army (shortcut: Shift + F10)
- Lord Mode
You only control your Lord, while the AI controls the rest of your army (shortcut: Shift + F11)
- Reinforcement Mode
You control your army, while the AI takes over the reinforcements and summoned units (shortcut: Shift + F12)
- AI Off
You fully control all your armies (shortcut: assign a key to "Save Camera Bookmark 5")

Additional function - Turn Unit Responses On/Off
Useful when your units get stuck in an audio loop. To use this function you must first assign a key to "Save Camera Bookmark 6"

Things to notice

- The hotkeys (Shift + F9/F10/F11/F12) replace the bookmark locations 1-4 in keybindings section. You can change them freely though. For more explanation on the controls, please refer to this thread.

- Spectator Mode works both in Campaign and Custom battles. It does not work in quest and intro battles.

Various Issues / Bugs / Compatibility

Special kudos to Jaerv for his invaluable help on the project.

And check out Spectator Mode II for Total War: Warhammer II.

@Sabhotep You can already let the AI control your forces in a similar manner in most of the other TW games without having to mod it...The only exceptions are the original Shogun and Medieval, Empire and Napoleon, as well as siege battles in Attila...The option is also there, but doesn't work properly on attacking sieges in Medieval 2 or Shogun 2 though...I am in the process of writing a complete guide to these options, which will contain a further plea for modders to help fill in the gaps I mentioned...

@Sabhotep I don't know if someone can import it. I do not own any other Total War, only the Warhammer games.

Is this possible in previous games?

@m3ran Glad that it worked for you, my friend :)

I removed it and added it again, now it works perfectly. Thanks for uploading this :)

@m3ran It works for more than 9000 people. Maybe you need to change the hotkeys? Look at the description for details!

The version in TW forums is old, Hambango has improved it. I will publish it in Steam's workshop later today.
