Raid base ( 2x2x1 )
This is the least recommended raid base that i'll provide in this guide. This Base has no airlock but is very cheap and does it's job.

Items; 4 Floors, 4 foundations, 2 Shelves, 8 walls, 2 Doorways, 1 Frame, 4 Large boxes, 1 Tool cupboard, 1 Double sheet door, 2 Sheet doors and 3 code locks.

First you want to start out by building a 2x2 out of twig then upgrading them to the material you'd like. For this guide i'll only be doing this in stone.







Secondly, you want to put a door up in the main door way. Then split the 4x4 behind the doorway. Behind the main door way you want to place another door way for the tool cupboard and horizontally next to it a double door frame. In between the two opposite from the main door you want a divider to divide the TC and loot. NOTE: Make sure the hard side is facing out all around the TC.


In the room with the door frame place 2 shelves side by side. You can rotate the shelves with 'R'. Fit them close to the wall as you can then place the 4 chests on the shelves. After doing that put up a double door for the loot and a door for the tool cupboard.




After all the steps above are complete, roof off your raid base and be sure all the twig is stone. You can place bags on the floors inside the raid base.
Raid base ( 3x2x1 )
This is a preferred raid base, This raid base has room for 8 chests and plenty of room with an airlock as well. This is a guide on how to make a 3x2x1 raid base. I will also put up the cost of this base.

Items; 6 Floors, 6 foundations, 4 Shelves, 11 walls, 3 Doorways, 2 Frame, 8 Large boxes, 1 Tool cupboard, 2 Double sheet door, 3 Sheet doors and 5 code locks.

First off, You want to start off with a 3x2 foundation layout in twig then upgrade it to a preferred material of choice. In this guide I will use stone.







Secondly, You want to put twig walls all the way around but put a wood way on one of the 3 wide sides. then stone it all up. After doing that put up a sheet door and lock it. If you're back is touching the sheet door you put another door frame ( Strong side towards you ) and one to the right as well ( Strong side too ) then upgrade them to stone. After doing that you put a tool cupboard in the room in front of the sheet door. ( Not the airlock but the room in front of it ) Wall the Tool cupboard off having all the strong sides facing out. Go to the other door way where you will be in a 2x2 room. Divide the room in half with double door frames after dividing it place a wall behind the 2 frames to divide it again separating the rooms.
Lastly, You need to put up all the doors in the house. 3 sheet doors, 5 locks, 2 double doors. 2 shelves 8 large chests, beds or bags. After doing that as the image shows roof off the top and the raid base is done.





This is what the raid base looks like on the out side and finished.
How to make a raid tower
NOTE: THE NEW CUPBOARD SYSTEM HAS MADE RAID TOWERS ALMOST USELESS. BUT FOR SAKE PURPOSES IT'S STILL ON HERE INCASE THEY CHANGE IT.

THE NEW WAY IS YOU CAN JUST LADDER UP WALLS.

Raid towers are useful and use mainly twig. They are used to build above a building or structure. After building the tower people jump from it and enter the targets area. This portion of the guide will teach how to make a basic raid tower and some tips with it.
( You can click images if you can hardly see them. )

Starting with a raid tower you will need to make a 2x1 or 1x2. Be sure that you're not building blocked but close as you can before being in the building blocked area so you can get the most use out of the raid tower.





Secondly You want to surround the 2x1 or 1x2 with door frames so you can build up more. Also make a 'U' Shape stairs facing inward in the 2x1 or 1x2.







After placing the 'U' stairs place a square floor above the empty area where there isn't stairs. Then repeat until you reach the height that you like.






In the end the raid tower should look like this but the height is up to your desire.








TIP 1
Getting short on the reach and you cant quite make the jump that you need? This tip might help you with your problem.
A simple square out with a chest sticking off the side of the square you placed to get maximum reach. You can rotate the chest with 'R'.







TIP 2
Not high enough and your raid tower stability isn't good enough to go higher? This tip will also help you when raid towering.
Note the raid towers stability at 42%. The fix to this problem is simple.








Place pillars in the 2x1 or 1x2 all the way up to the top and on both foundations.








Also inbetween the 2 foundations put a door way until you're at the top.








After that is all complete you will see a big change in stability. From a 42% to a 64%
Rocket Raiding
This section of the guide will teach you where to shoot rockets to get the most out of them. ( You can click the images if you cant see the image! ) Do not use this if you're planning to splash where a sheet door is. A sheet door doesn't take 4 rockets and will use more than required. If you're looking for a cheap alternative please go to the combo section of this guide ( Hasn't been added yet. but planned to be added. (2/23/17))

Find the base you want to raid. For this example i've created a 2x2x2 cube base. We will be using 4 rockets and a launcher and this is how to raid properly with it.






As highlighted in blue is the area of 1 stone wall. For the best outcome from rocketing is to hit the corner of the 4 walls. ( From this image you want to rocket the top right. ) if you have a hard time finding where to shoot use a crossbow to bow and shoot an arrow in the general area on where the 4 meet as the arrow will stick out of the wall and mark where to hit.


When shooting the rockets, It should be aimed in this general area. ( I did not use the bow trick mentioned in the image before this ). Hitting this area will cause splash damage to all 4 walls. This will cost you 4 rockets.





If done right you will destroy all 4 walls that you did splash damage to. That's how to use the rocket launcher properly on Stone walls.

Tips / Tricks when raiding
This section of the guide will tell about some tips and tricks you can do when raiding. Either saving you time or saving you the extra trouble.

1. Team Communication and Uniform:
  • Communication is a primary key in Rust. Having a team with microphones is an ideal team where you are all in a [ TeamSpeak, Discord, Skype or any other platforms that allow you to talk over IP ].
  • A good way to tell if someone is on your team or now is when you all wear a specific uniform to different your self from the other players. (It's important for teammates to tell if they died with uniform so they will know if someone stole the uniform to blend in.) A upside to having uniforms is not having to ask for a jump check. (If no one took your uniform). A question to ask for a jump check and waiting for a response in a jump is enough time for you to be killed by the enemy.

2. Binds:
  • Auto sprint bind:
    • Put this into console: bind f2 forward;sprint
    • This allows you to hit F2 and auto run, So if you're running to a raid and it's along run you can hit F2 and auto sprint.
    • [ To stop auto run you hit [ 'W' and your 'Sprint Key' ] [ Not your bind key ] ]
  • Auto mine bind:
    • Put this into console: bind z attack;duck
    • This allows you to hit Z and auto pickaxe. This is handy when breaking walls. Instead of holding mouse 1 you can hit Z to do it for you.
    • [ To stop auto mine you click [ 'Mouse One' and hit your 'Crouch Key' ] ]
  • Auto toggle crouch bind:
    • Put this into console: bind c duck
    • This allows you to toggle crouching instead of having to hold down the crouch key to keep crouched.
    • [ To stop toggle couch you simply hit your [ 'Crouch Key' ] [ Not the toggle bind ] ]

Why should I put double doors. They are the exact same for the single version. Wood, Sheet metal and Armored double doors all have the same HP as their single door version.
