What is Crime Life?

Crime Life is an innovative 2d Massive Multiplayer Online game. Crime Life is based on the real-world and is actually in Real-Time. From starting gang wars with other gangs in your city/town to becoming a Police Officer and enforcing the law or even the Mayor/Governor of your City/State. Crime Life is everything you want to do/be that you've never gotten to do/be in real life.

In this game, you can be everything you want, and do whatever you want. Do you want to be a pusher in the streets? Yes, you can! Do you want to be a hooker? Yes, you can! Do you want to be the leader of the biggest gang in the game and tear down anyone who dares to challenge you? Yes, you can! Do you want to be a real merchant with your own shop, to sell goods to others? Yes, you can! Do you want to be a gritty cop and enforce the laws of your land? Yes, you can! Want more?


Do you want to be an Undercover Police Officer and infiltrate the gangs, busting members? Yes, you can! Do you want to be the Major of L.A., Paris, Tokio, N.J., London, and all the other cities? Yes you can (through public elections of course!) Do you want to be the Police Chief of Chicago? Yes, you can! And really many, many others...


- N.p.c. A.I. (Non-playing characters Artificial Intelligence.)

I've spent a lot of time creating a really innovative Artificial Intelligence system for the NPCs. Different from any other system created before, but what does it consist of?
The goal was to make players feel like NPC's aren't just stupid quest givers like in most MMO's, but an actual really intelligent human being.

How did I achieve this?

First thing first, I created the mood system:

Each individual NPC has different moods. He/She can be happy, sad, angry, aggravated, etc. For Example: in the picture above the NPC's are color coded with their respective moods and each mood effects differently what the NPC thinks and it's actions. Let me elaborate more:

Each NPC is influenced by 4 different factors: The time of day, weather, personality, and life events. Let's go more in-depth, though.
They're NPCs who possess different emotions, views, and feelings about things. For Example, An NPC may be afraid of the dark, or scared of storms, or happy because they've gotten a new puppy, the lists goes on...


But how does this affect their/your life?

Let's say that a particular merchant in your area had an argument with a customer and isn't having a good day after that. Well, that merchant may close his shop a bit earlier than usual that day.

Or let's say that you're looking for an important quest but the NPC happens to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off! You will not get that quest until the NPC mood changes.

All possible outcomes and interactions are infinite!

Speaking of quests? Tired of dumb NPCs quest givers with a question mark over them? Welcome to the family, I'm as well!

- Quest System.

In Crime Life, I invented a brand new Quest System.

First things first, you will not find NPCs with a question mark, but to get quests you must actively speak with the NPCs. For Example, you say "where's the news?" Well, the news is there, but when I said to speak with the NPCs, I mean that you must pose a question and they'll answer based on their A.I.!

They'll learn from you as well, this means that you can teach the A.I. of NPCs!

So let's go deep into the quest system

In Crime Life you can have only 5 quests at a time. One main quest, one secondary, and 3 other tasks.

Now that you don't have dumb question marks on the NPCs, how do you get quests? Well, you get them from NPCs, while not actually even knowing they're quest givers.

How? Well, here's an example. Imagine that...
... you are fighting a mob (a mafia guy NPC) it drops a gangsta hat, with good stats... You equip it, it looks cool and gives you a +5 in Predominance... Maybe one day you're in a Nightclub, you're looking for a lap dance. The waitress (NPC) sees you with your cool boss hat and she says I know that hat, I've seen it before... So you ask back:"You've seen this hat before"? She says "Yes, one of my customers always wore it and said inside there's a treasure. I didn't know if it was a joke or not, but he was in love with one of the dancers here, Kate. Try to ask her ... and she walks away. You examine the hat and you find writing which says "My fortune started with this hat, and the numbers of dreams are "1957523445.... ". So a new quest window pops up and says "Will you accept the dream numbers quest?"

You could be polite and say what you don't like or what can be improved, but defining trash something it's not a constructive criticism: This show perfectly to me what kind of person you are in real life... And I'm not going to add more to this comment, you define yourself through your words.
