Description
"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange." - Fullmetal Alchemist

Alchemical Exchange is a strategy card game for 2-4 that involves matching symbols to create powerful Philosopher Stones. The rules are in the notebook! Each planetary symbol has a different play style ranging from aggressive, to draw power, to self-sacrifice. To succeed in this game you have to be multiple steps ahead of your opponents.

Countless have stepped up to try and forge Philosopher Stones, and many friendships have been permanently damaged in a fit of rage.

Do you have what it takes to be an Alchemist?

@kood99 Thanks! That means a lot to me! I think there's still some work and balancing that needs to be done first, but eventually I'd like to release a copy of AE either under Garage Sofa Games or just independantly through maybe Game Crafter or something.

I'd so buy this game if there was a physical version!

@Tallbunni Yes you can dissolve your stacks whenever. As it currently stands, when you dissovle your stack or just one card you simply draw back it's value. When removing other players cards you have to pay double its cost and you can remove 1 card or their whole stack, it just gets expensive to do so.

can someone disolve their stack before the corresponding red card has been played? Or whenever? Is it only when you want to get rid of 1 card that it cost twice its number to remove?

@Lord Pandra[Aoc] If you ascend the colors (Black->White->Yellow->Red) and match the symbols you get to draw double. Doesn't work backwards, although you can still play a Black card onto a White Card if you have matching symbols and draw normally. And as for exchanging a Red onto a Yellow you get double however many Red Cards are put in x2 (I.E. If you get 2 Red Cards put in you'd normally get to draw 4 but if you exchange ontop of a Yellow card you'd get 8)

Can someone explain how the catalyst exchange works. If you exchange a black card into white a card with the same symbol do you get the 2x acending bonus? Or does it work the opposite way. If you put a white for a black do you get the 2x bonus. Symbols matching of course.

@trembleb4brenden I've never run out of cards myself. I could see that happening, but you have to go through running out of both the main deck, the exchange deck, and the discard deck for that to happen. This was just kinda a fun week long project though. I might come back to it to polish it up when I have time!

One problem that may need to be remedied is that: if no one plays agressively the deck will run out.
