- Skyrim Script Extender (OBSE) v1.7.3 or later -

This mod is very simple. When you open a book in the game, the text "~(Read)" is added to the front of the book's name. This does two things.
First, it is now possible to tell which books in the game you have already read.
Second, all books that you have read will be sorted to the bottom of your inventory.

Q: What effect does this mod have on quest books?
A: The book will have "~(Read)" added to the front of the name after you read it. Otherwise, the book will behave in exactly the same way as if you don't have this mod installed.

Q: How about spell tomes?
A: Spell tomes will be marked as read when you click on them in your inventory and get the spell from them. This can help you know which spells you've already learned.

Q: Skill books?
A: The book will be marked as read and you will acquire the skill point from that book.

Q: Books from other mods?
A: This mod will treat them in the same way as books in the base game. They will be marked as read and other effects of that book will still happen as noted above. This includes books added by any of the three DLC.

Crashes and performance issues associated with this mod
I've seen a few reports of performance issues when this mod is installed and/or game crashes after uninstalling. Unfortunately, I've never had either of these happen to me. Thus, this is especially difficult to debug.

About the crashes, I believe the problem is that Skyrim has a quirk in it that can cause scripts added by a mod to become glued to your save game. When the mod is uninstalled, the scripts remain and can cause problems.

I have two suggestions for cleaning save games. Make sure you have backups just in case.
The first uses Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) to clean your save game when you play the game:
If this doesn't help you out, my second suggestion is to use this tool: Again, backups are recommended. If this doesn't help either, send me a message and I will try to help.

As for the problem of slow performance, I believe this is caused by changing Papyrus related settings in Skyrim's INI files. My mod has logic in it to detect these kinds of tweaks. If you see a warning from my mod about these tweaks, I highly recommend removing those INI settings.

My mod has multiple languages integrated and will select the correct language based on the game's language. I currently have the following languages integrated:
- English
- French
- German
- Spanish

I am willing to provide other translations. If you are interested in helping or simply want this mod in your language, please send me a message.

Grat mod! I have a question though - does it work with every book? I've ventured to the vampire castle and read a couple of books there and they didn't seem to be marked as "read" even after a couple of tries (Dawnguard DLC).

I like the idea but there are mods out there that do this alot better.

This mod does not work for me, for whatever reason.

Excellent mod, but for some reason it doesn't want to rename Kodlak's journal

This wouldn't work for me either, so I had to uncheck it from the load-up files. Now my game works again.

I tried those files too. The problem is not to load the game after removing the mod. The problem is that you can't save after you loaded the game without the mod with a save that has the mod. There is no problem with a new game.
