ZERO SUM is an original puzzle game with an action movie storyline. It's like if Sudoku and Die Hard had a weird baby together.

The goal of the game is to get each equation to equal ZERO!
  • Click the space between two numbers to place a "plus" or "minus" symbol!
  • Each operator you place changes the equation!
  • Make the equation equal ZERO to win!

Puzzles get more complex in later levels, as different level types are introduced.
Y'know, like a puzzle game tends to do!
  • Timed Puzzles add a clock to each level!
  • Melting Puzzles slowly melt the operators you place, erasing your progress if you don't move quickly!
  • Missing Number Puzzles require you to fill in the missing numbers to solve the equation!

You play as Sarah Jacobs, a graduate student working at Cleveland University. On the eve of discovering a mathematical cure for cancer, your mentor, Professor Claire Liddy, is gunned down by terrorists. Fortunately, before she died, the Professor was able to erase many of the plus and minus signs with her bloody hands, saving the cure from falling into the terrorist's hands.

It's now up to you to fill in the symbols, and re-cure cancer!

Hope you dig the game, it's almost done! I designed, wrote, and programmed it on my own, and relied on some of the most talented friends I have to provide Art, Music, Acting, and Direction!

@carlosvilas I'm donating 50% of all of the money that I make off the game to the American Cancer Society, so by playing the game you'll be helping to cure cancer. It's meta!

The cinematic trailer is great, I'll give you that. But I don't see the relationship between Maths and the cure of Cancer. And more importantly, how does this game help on cancer research? Are you going to donate some money for this purpose? If so, you have my respect. But if that is not the case, I think it's very dishonest to use Cancer in such a questionable way as you do in this game. Overall I don't like it a lot and I find it quite inappropriate and disrespectful, please tell us if this game will help on cancer research or not.

@edderiofer I appreciate your feedback, and I get what you're saying. I didn't mean to imply that I was pricing the game based on quality, I really was just trying to find a price that I felt people would actually take a chance on a weird little puzzle game. I do think that the game is worth a player's time, though it's definitely not for everyone, and I totally get if it's not for you, but I will say, as a last ditch effort to woo you, that while the core mechanic of the game is indeed (with a few exceptions) placing operators in between numbers to solve an equation, I think that the puzzle design and level variations make for an interesting game. It's kind of like how Stephen's Sausage Roll isn't really just about using the arrow keys to move a sausage onto a grill- the core mechanics hopefully work with the puzzle design to make something interesting and unique. But I'll stress that this is my goal, I genuinely hope that I have achieved it. Nonetheless, thanks for the feedback!
