Deck Quest Trial Edition

All future updates, expansions, and revisions to the Original Deck Quest will happen on that version! Out right now, the Crafting Expansion! Make your own weapons and items!

The physical version of Deck Quest is now out of stock! Thank you for all the support! Please stay tuned for an exciting revival! Cade Altair WILL RETURN!

Long ago, in a world of magic and fantasy, a powerful warrior consumed the blood of a dragon and became the feared Dragon Lord. In a faraway crypt, a mighty necromancer crossed the bridge of life and became the powerful Lich Lord, Grisma the Gruesome!

In a far-off dimension outside of reality, the machinations of madmen weave cryptic clues and impossible items in an attempt to roll the perfect number. Behind the veil, strings are being pulled by a powerful and enigmatic god-like being known as the Old One Zlanzrwss.

And what of you? Who will you be? And what will be your quest?

There are 4 key decks in Deck Quest:
An Adversary Deck full of powerful foes to fight!
A Location Deck full of exotic lands to explore!
An Item Deck full of powerful weapons, armors, potions and more!
And finally a Role Deck full of various classes and attributes to craft your very own character! (There’s also an optional auxiliary Skill Deck, too!)

Deck Quest can be played however you want, whether it be a classic D&D-esque campaign, a gauntlet beat ’em up, intense roleplay, or even a deck builder! It really is up to you!

Hey everyone!

Two-part post here, so bear with me!

It's been a while since we've done maintenance over on this page (in case you haven't noticed), but didn't want to leave you hanging for too long...!

It's genuinely amazing to see that many of you have really appreciated our first game--yeah, we know it sometimes has a few flaws, but we're truly happy to see that we were able to add a little bit of fun and adventure to people's lives through our games.

But back to business...

For anyone wondering when physical copies will be available again:
We sold out of the original print run, and printing another round is a little bit out of our reach as of now. However, we are looking into developing either a print-play version or an on-demand print order, but those options might not be around for a while.

(Next post please)

So... What now?

We're nearing the completion on a n e w version of Deck Quest!
It's definitely a bit different, but we've made sure to still retain the same sense of creativity and exploration in the cards. Really, the primary difference is that combat and battle is more structured and strategy-oriented, so we hope you will appreciate the changes.

We'll be releasing the new edition here on TTS in the coming week (free!) for y'all to try out!

Just in case you want closer updates to see what we've been doing behind the scenes here at Garage Sofa Games, check out our Facebook page in the links up above!

Of course, if you have any questions at all (literally anything related or even unrelated to DQ), please feel free to give us a shout!

Alrighty. Next thing I would say is... Do you want to tlak about it?

Do you have someone roll first than choose which of their abilities if they meet it they wanna use?
Do you have them choose first, and then roll to see if they meet that range?
Or do you have them choose "I wanna be aggressive" or "Supportive" and roll, and if it falls in the range of what they want for either choice, it does that?

I feel like the ranges are a bit icky when it comes to smaller attacks, like "4-13"... In the end, that's still a 50% chance, and hey, that's fine, but something like "13-17" is only a 1/5th chance of working... But I also feel like allowing them the use of BOTH is also a bit odd, and leaves little room for failure too.

What do y'all think? And Devs, if I can get your personal opinion on it, what do YOU think too? Since ya said the rules are pretty open-ended, I'd love to hear what you devs personally do. Gimme a holler if ya can!
