Attention 8/30/2018
I have released a partial update to address most of the ridership issues that were present. You may have to replop your stations to see ridership improved. There are still some issues with bent stations and the large airport. These are being worked on now. Instead of having you wait longer for me to fix this, I decided to make a partial release.

Changelog
Update 8.3a -Fixed ridership issues for most underground stations.
Update 8.3 -Refined algorithm for detecting vanilla cities transferring to MOM for first time.
Update 8.2 -Corrected vulnerability in which the autoconversion occurs for those who chose to build above ground MOM tunnels. Stations would be converted back to original attributes.
Update 8.1 -Fixed broken pathing (cims not entering the stations) -Fixed station track selection bug -Fixed large airport slope too steep -Increased island platform track to 19m to make it compatible with @BadPeanut island platform station train track (train converter)

Thank you for scoping out the Metro Overhaul Mod. The main goals of this mod are:
  1. Allow the underutilized metro system in this game to be brought to ground, and elevated levels.
  2. Add character to the metro network with new track styles, rendered tunnels and stations.
  3. Extend the functionality of metro with new UI's controling track aesthetics, as well as underground station depth and length.

Instructions
General
  1. Subscribe to the mod and all required items listed on the right side.
  2. Ensure all the associated assets are enabled in the ingame Content Manager.
  3. Metro lines are built like tram lines. You must start by placing a depot (found in the metro menu). This is where metro cars spawn from.
  4. Build your stations, tracks, and lines the way you normally would, only this time, you can go above and below ground!.
  5. Set up your transport lines.

Common Problems
  • 'Mod 'Touch This' is currently not compatible with this mod. I will be looking into this though in the future.
  • If Tracks and Stations are glitching through the surface: You need to (re)build below 12m deep.
  • If your depot is not producing trains:
    • Make sure all the bends in your network a built using the curved road tool, not the straight tool.
    • Make sure your depot is getting power, water, and sewer services.
  • If you are not seeing pillars or other things appear to be missing:
    • Check your assets and make sure that the assets from this mod are enabled in the Content Manager. So far they are:

      1. MetroElevatedPillar.crp
      2. MetroElevatedPillarSmall.crp
      3. MetroBridgePillar.crp
      4. MetroBridgePillarSmall.crp
      5. Classic 1L Pillar (Bridge).crp
      6. Classic 1L Pillar (High).crp
      7. Classic 1L Pillar (Low).crp
      8. Classic 2L Pillar (Bridge).crp
      9. Classic 2L Pillar (High).crp
      10. Classic 2L Pillar (Low).crp
      11. m100.crp*
      *default metro train, or at least one other train from the Workshop

    • Make sure they are all enabled. If you are missing any, unsubscribe and resubscribe.
    • If you are still missing items, please send a link to your output_log to the Bug Report thread.

      Output Log location on Windows:
      Steam\SteamApps\common\Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data\output_log.txt
      Player Log location on Mac OS X:
      Users/<username>/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log

Unsubscribing (permanently)
New in 8.0 is Ghost Mode. Enable Ghost Mode from options and then load and save your cities which use MOM. Then unsubscribe. You may also want to delete the m100 asset to get back the shorter vanilla metro cars. Keep in mind that if you intend on Resubscribing, make sure Ghost Mode is unchecked before starting your city.

Conflicting Mods
  • Touch This 1.1: As it stands, any building that uses Touch This that has metro tracks will need to be replaced with an unmodified building and then the mod be removed. I am going to work on making this mod compatible as this is something I can fix and is a pain in the neck. Sorry.
  • Larger Footprints: You need to Save & Restart the game after every Depot you build.

Recommended Items
  • Parallel Road Tool: Allows you to align and draw multiple networks at once. Perfect for stacked networks and dual networks.
  • First Person Camera: Updated: Allows you to take a dip underground and look at your metro stations and tunnels in action. Uncheck the option for "Prevent ground clipping", and check the option for "Allow movement in vehicle mod".
  • Fine Road Anarchy: Needed to stack elevated steel tracks over roads.
  • Fine Road Tool: Allows better height control of track heights. Useful for grade level tunnel entrances and sunken stretches of track.
  • Move It!: Pretty much allows you to move anything anywhere and offers an undo button!

Other Housekeeping Items
  • This mod is compatible with most existing metro stations. You will be able to set the length and depth and it should magically render the tracks.

Hey so the mod was working superbly when i first started it up no error messages or anything. For some reason my depot is not producing trains. They despawn before they even leave the station which literally started happening out of nowhere has anyone else had this happen to them?

Hello ! i am using only the metropolitain depot ! and the mod work fine for me, it seen the Ridership issue is fixed but after several metro station replacement i only see a very little improuvement, it' s still far from what it use to be before your 8.0 update, as i see you mention in your description ; there is still some issue with bent station and airport , will you one day release a full update for this issue ? best regard

Anyone having issues with train tracks after enabling this mod? The original two-way train track was missing; so I tried the one added by MOM. However, it won't connect to all train stations and any original tracks. Do I have to replace all normal tracks with the new rails? Otherwise things seem to work rather well. Great work!

After use this mod, I met some servious problems:
I subscribed all necessary mod above and never use "touch it". But whenever I load my save, the time stop without any error message. Furthermore, I can't exit the game....The chirper just turn around and around...and I need to use the task manager to shut down.
As I unsubscribed MOM, everything go back to normal..
Please help, I really love this mod.:steambored:
