Expert mode "Shooter View" : Super Turbo Street Trailer
New shader effects & Windows 2000 supported. No kidding.
  • realtime shadows
  • post-processing sharpen filter
  • hand-crafted bloom filter, fresh and tasty, made with our own hands
  • some new perl-like spheres, sorry balls

Here are the results:

That said, the game has been tested and is perfectly playable with
Windows 2000, GeForce 4 MX, 512MB RAM(!)
and up to
Windows 10, GTX 1080

We consider "supporting hardware this old as well as ultra-new graphics cards" an achievement. :-)
Here is Win2000 in action (800x600x16bit, 60fps, aspect-ratio corrrected):

That said, if any readers have capable graphics cards and monitors with resolution higher than 1920x1200, we'd be glad to share the full game to make tests and take some screenshots. Get in touch!

Release date: Windows Q4 2016, Linux/MacOS Q1 2017
Kyball is the only cure for a world in despair!

With natural resources rapidly running out, the planet becomes dangerously unbalanced. The only chance of restoring peace and prosperity lies in the Energy-Cube. Aim, shoot, and match balls to release their energy. The wondrous creatures of this world will lend you a hand! Have fun, while saving the planet in Kyball!

  • enjoy the 1st ever match-3D bubble shooter adventure
  • explore a world in need of your masterly matching
  • meet animals from all over the world that'll help you succeed
  • test your spatial awareness to restore balance to the planet
  • beat 100 levels of increasing difficulty, split among 8 evolving worlds

Kyball is 100% complete for Windows and is asking for your support to get it on Steam.

We are in the process of porting it to Linux and - if there is demand - Mac OS too.

@edderiofer The demo is there for everyone to judge if it qualifies as "puzzles" or not. We had to decrease the difficulty on several occasions cause players wouldn't find how to solve many levels.

Bleh, match-3 "puzzles". No thank you.

@Corvo the game uses Ogre3D as the graphics engine, so it is definitely possible and in the to-do list. We are already looking to port the game to Linux, but if the game is greenlit and demand exists, then maybe a mac version will also be released. Dec 10, 2016 @ 5:09am
linux or mac version?

@Marfung - the puzzles do actually get progressively harder in the game and there are multiple ways of solving them. Also, solving a puzzle and getting an Expert Score is a whole other deal.

That said, if Kyball gets greenlit we are considering developing a stand-alone version of our puzzle editor so that users can create and share their own puzzles.

If you are not sure if you would like the game, our demo is a 50mb download consisting of 2 worlds and 25 puzzles. Check them out!

I have to admit, I clicked on this expecting to dislike it. And while the video does leave me a little concerned there might not be enough variety in gameplay here to sustain many hours, it does look quite bit better than I was expecting from the thumbnail.

Your artists could try to match the colorful, cartoony feel of the energy balls to the realistic theme of the environment and animals. For example, choose asset packs that match.
