Description
I got the idea to give this a try by watching Ctop doing so in one of his series.

It is a work heavily in progress, but I am curious if others ike it so far. So comments are welcome.

So far I have created most of Hobbiton, the Old Forest , the Barrow Downs, Bree, Maggot’s Farm, the Trollshaws, the Marshes, Weathertop, Rivendel, Goblin town, Mirkwood, the Lonely Mountain, Moria, Laketown, Fangorn. Lothlorien, The Falls of Rauros, Rohan, Helms Deep and the White Tower. Work in Minas Tirith, Mordor, Minas Morgul, Osgiliath and the Emyn Muil has started.

Notes by me:
- I am trying to be as detailled as possible, but with the FPS in mind. So I do realize some things could be more detailled. My goal: a pleasant looking park with as few parts as possible.
- I try to build as long as possible with the same settings. Had to lower the guests-cap to 3000.
- I do switch between building several parts of the park in an attempt to let things not become repetitive, which can easily happen working to long at a time on a specific thing.
- Not all parts of the park will be 'geographically' correct in relation to each other. Sometimes a location seems better fitting for that specific part of the theme.
- It is not possible to place coasters with cars fitting to a specific theme everywhere. I will do my best to get as close as possible whenever I can however some 'contradictions' can be expected.
- All parts of the park will be revisited for further detailing, once this project is nearer to completion. All dependant on how well the game runs in that phase.

Edit 27-02-2019:
Another update after nearly one month. This month I decided to limit the guest count to 3000 and lower the settings to medium to keep building more fluid.

The things I did for this update are:

- Started decorating the lower station of ‘Return from Mount Doom, the skies ride.
- Made the queue-line go through Mount Doom, to simulate the last phase of the quest entering Mount Doom, destroying the ring, go outside and be rescued by the eagles.
- Rerouted the Skies ride to a lower level and more logical route.
- Did some work on Orodruin (Mount Doom) itself, trying out the outside look.
- Created the crater inside and put in smoke at the top.
- Did move Osgiliath and build the ruins on the Mordor side of the River.
- Did move Minas Morgul, Build it and put in the lighting.
- Did move the Shelob’s lair attraction.
- Created the ‘endless stairs’of Cirith Ungol, leading to Shelob’s lair.
- In fact Cirith Ungol consists of two passes, one leading to Shelob, the other passing by Minas Morgul. Did work this in in my park.
- Put in a transport ride , the polarity, in an attempt to get more people in the back of the park and near some less popular rides. Still a lot of landscaping to do around this one.
- The polarity has 4 stations and moves counter clockwise through the park.
- Finally decided what to do with the open space that was more or less in the centre of the park. I started creating the Emyn Muil here.
- Put in a wild Mouse coaster in the Emyn Muil, The movements of the coaster cars simbolizes the hard times Frodo and Sam had here turning left and right without having any notion where they should go to cross these hills.

Planned:
- Continue working on Mordor
- All other things mentioned above
- Finish Dol Guldur.
- The battle of the Pelenor Fields in some way
- Finish the landscape around The White Tower.
- A lot of lighting in many parts of the park.
- The soundscape of the park.
- The ‘main street’ area, although I intend to not make it in a ‘Disney’ way, but more like a village with some spread out houses.


Known Issue:
After a while I get the message ‘Many guests are trapped in the park’. After closing the park all guests leave and the counter drops to 0. So no guests are trapped. I suspect it to be something with the queue’s of the Polarity, because this happens since I put this ride in.

I am still aiming for a partcount somewhere between 40.000 and 50.000. Though looking at the way the game runs right now, I do not know if that is realistic with the settings I use now. Still I am in doubt what works and what doesn’t. I have downloaded an enormous park from the workshop with over 268.000 pieces and 2264 buildings. It took a long time to load, but once loaded i got between 10 and 15 FPS with 3500 guests. Time will tell I suppose.

Thanks @rayhobbit. So far, so good. Slowly but surely I do make progression. For you and @Yav, at the moment I am working on Goblin Town. Have the rollercoaster moved underground totally and started working on decoration. I did add a 'suggestion of Gollum/Smeagol using one of the alien animatronics. Not ideal, but in a flash it works.

@rayhobbit I certainly intend to finish it. That may take quite a while though given the vastness and number of regions in the park. ATM I am building the dark ride in the Barrow Downs. Managed to go lower and make it dark during the day as well. But building underground is a hell of a job. So far I am 1/3 on the way, complete with the triggers for lighting different spots.

My inetention is to try to update once a week if real life does not get in the way :)
