can y make it for wooden Elevators to because if y build a wooden rafthous and there is a metal elevator ist not so cool and ist expensiv for early game
And also think about an angle that can be set by the player, so the vertical rails are not fully vertical but slightly (or a lot) diagonal. What this would do: it would change the trajectory of the catapulted items (when in "Launch Mode"), and serve as far distance catapult of supplies to distant befriended bases even accross the island, or maybe as bringer of explosive rain from the skies to hostile HQs. Aiming over long distances is not easy, even if the radial menu has a setting to rotate left or right by just 1°. Have these rotation options: +-45°, +-10°, +-5°, +-1°, +-0.5°, +-0.1°. This should allow the players to get at least a bit close to the most distant targets. Much depends oin where you errect the elevator rails, players have to experiment and make some test shots probably with a player (with paraschute) who reports where (s)he lands. Ten rails = accross the entire island, and fewer rails mean shorter distances.
Often tamed animals following me fall down the elevator platform when trying to leave it following me. Therefore I suggest optional railings left and right that can be mounted to any platform (optional and not a must).
Yet another (crazy) suggestion
Vertical catapult elevator
Same parts, just one more option inside the radial menu: "Enable/Disable Launch Mode"
Depending on the amount of vertical rails, in "Launch Mode" the platform speeds up (still stopping at the top) and causes the player to be catapulted high into the air. Hopefully the player wears a paraschute. Cool for observations. One vertical rail catapults half tree-height, two catapult above trees, ..., ten catapult to just below upper edge of the atmosphere, eleven catapult the player into the Nirvana (punishment for bad tribal members or imprisoned members of hostile tribes).
PROBLEM REPORT
I tried to use them. I placed the vertical rail onto a raft's foundation, and added then the (small) platform. The problem I encountered is, that the platform was slightly below the surface of the foundation and when elevating upwards, it did not take me upwards despite that i stood with my feet at the right spot (but on the surface of the foundation and not the surface of the platform slightly below the foundation). I think, that is what causes the problem. that the platform is slightly below the surface of the foundation.
SUGGESTION
Add into the radial menu an option that allows the player to elevate (or lower) the platform "by hand" by tiny amounts until it has the correct position. That new position is then automatically saved as the correct floor level position for the future.
