The Netherlands with wide navigatable rivers and four 'oil rig' islands

Three large 4097x4097, 1:1 aspect map of The Netherlands.
Workshop FileID: 797776017

One map has its cities and industries randomly placed, the second map has Dutch cities correctly placed but no industries. The third has realistic cities & industries. You can place industries yourself by using this mod: which is especially useful for placing raw oil refineries on the artificial islands.

After you subscribed to this mod, when you play a free game, there's the option to 'select map'. In vanilla this option is greyed out. In 'select map' you can choose these map of The Netherlands:

‘NL random cities & industries’ (previously named: 'The Netherlands wide rivers')
‘NL real cities no industries’
‘NL real cities WITH industries’

Bugfix 'added the industry: construction material'

Bugfix 'impossible to create road map'

Bugfix 'industries showing when they should not'

Added the third map with realistic cities and realistic industries. Cruel Oil refineries should still be placed manually on the artificial islands, because they don’t show up, or get awful long bridges towards them from the mainland.

Version 1.1 of this map added the map with the Dutch cities (no industries), but in addition the gradients towards the rivers were made more fluent. Resulting in easier and more realistic placement of docks. And because there was a lot of unused water (North Sea), I created four small islands. These can be used as oil rigs, hauling cruel oil from these locations to land. This way the North Sea gets its influence on the map. The ‘Afsluitdijk’ was widened, so that it fits a highway.

The original map is from 'adonet', who posted it with TFGameManager (Train Fever). In version 1.0, I made wider rivers for shipping purposes (navigatable waters).

Save games of earlier instalments should work just fine; mine did.

Hope you like it!

Great! I wish a map with Amsterdam, Den Haag and Rotterdam only.

I don't suppose there is any chance that you will be updating, or rather producing a seperate more accurate map of the Netherlands with smaller rivers etc.

Very nice map! I'm really enjoying playing it!

Some suggestions/notes though:
- I end up having to raze and rebuild all the bridges when I want to use ships at the rivers in this map. The bridges seem to be not navigable.
- Near Amsterdam there is the steel mill of IJmuiden (TATA steel), but it's not on the map, could you add it? it would be a nice addition imo.

@Thaltrad: Industrie is toegevoegd, was inderdaad de fabriek die steen en slag verwerkt naar constructie materiaal. Bedankt voor de heads-up.
@ZoZo: Bedankt voor het compliment!

@Ugorova: Goed om te horen!
@Thaltrad: Mist er een chain uit deze industrie?
