Dynacorp is live on Kickstarter!
Description
Release date: Late 2017

Dynacorp is a 2D Pixel adventure platformer, that explores the consequences of your actions in an exotic alien ecosystem.

You play as Dynabot, a hyperactive delivery robot with a deathray.

Dynabot is a robot built and deployed by the pre-eminent Dynacorp for delivery with a smile. Though perpetually cheerful, Dynabot seems to have missed any humour upgrades and, since first being powered on, has never once gotten the joke. Why did the chickenbot cross the space lane? Dynabot will list every probable reason, every time.

Features

  • Controller support
  • Choose your play style: Blast away those aliens and puzzles, or make friends to help you navigate the world.
  • Deathray: Your primary tool for carving stairways, removing obstacles, destroying aliens and terrain, and once fully charged it can be used to boost jumps and allow flight.
  • Mining Drill: Allows drilling through tough materials to carve shortcuts through the world.
  • Hypnocharm: Dynabot doesn’t have to kill everything in sight and can sway the aliens to your side via the Dynacorp patented technology “Hypnocharm”.
  • Alien allies: Alien allies can lend their various special talents to help you through the world.
  • Procedurally generated map: Each play through is different allowing replayability and a fresh experience.
  • Ecological message: Given the capacity to become the most chipper one-bot killing machine around, on an untouched planet full of charm and beauty, you the player get to choose how you will impact this balanced ecosystem.

Dynabot loves destroying things

Programmed with an endlessly jubilant personality, and equipped with a destructive deathray laser and versatile mining drill, Dynabot has the capacity to become the most chipper one-bot killing machine around.

Dynabot also has knack for making new friends

But, Dynabot doesn’t have to kill everything in sight! Programmed with algorithms that supply endless charm, Dynabot can escape many sticky situations simply by using the Dynacorp-patented technology, "HypnoCharm". When that doesn't work, Dynabot can ramp up computational power to grasp non-robotic concepts, such as "empathy" and "hunger", and can use this knowledge to do something nice while waiting for the trusty deathray to charge.

Choose your play style

The procedurally generated levels are destructible and bursting with puzzles. If you like causing chaos, you can blast the puzzles away—and create new enemies to fight.

If you're more of a pacifist, you can work with your new alien friends to uncover mysteries and recover your scattered cargo.

The destructive tools at your disposal include:

Drill: Dynabot has a versatile mining drill capable of carving precise pathways through most materials. This tool is great for carving stairways, tunnels, and shortcuts through a level without using loads of energy in the process.

Laser: Dynabot has a deathray laser that can be used to kill aliens, decimate plants, carve holes, assist jumps, and at it's more powerful levels, once charged to full capacity, allows sustained --yet destructive-- flight over large areas, or the ability to destroy or melt tough to penetrate materials.

Bombs: The planet has plants of various kinds in rich abundance. One of the most useful and notable plants are the Kabloomers, which explode in self defense. This resultant explosion can destroy nearby enemies, break solid materials, and provide a shockwave blast that can propel Dynabot to new heights.

Alien abilities at your disposal.

Many of the aliens have unique traits and abilities that you can make use of if you manage to befriend them.

Some of these numerous talents include:

Bounciness: Some of the goo based aliens can be used as handy trampoline-like surfaces, allowing you to reach hard to reach platforms and secrets.

Knowledge: Some aliens, if you can gain their trust, will show you the way to hidden secrets within the levels, allowing you a wheel-up in navigating this mysterious world.

Special attacks: If you make some friends, but also make some enemies, you can enlist particularly charmed aliens to help defend you on your journey.

What's the deal with this planet?

The planet upon which Dynabot crashlands is a peaceful one, so filled with personality that even the clouds seem sentient. It’s not unlikely that the planet itself experiences emotions, ones no doubt as cheery as the creatures that reside upon it.

The resident aliens suggest that this planet is too good at fostering life, with beings evolving from improbable beginnings such as a centuries-forgotten hot drink.

The resident species are simple and trusting, lacking the healthy dose of skepticism recommended by the Galactic Health Authority. Still, despite the lack of apex predators, the aliens are known to fight back if their way of life is disturbed. Unfortunately, the majority are weak, and haven’t worked a single day in their lives.

One suggestion though: please upload a 1080p version of your video. 360p doesn't do your artwork justice. I can't speak for others but I always watch Greenlight videos in fullscreen.

I like the art style. And the over-the-top flamboyant voiceover had me cracking up. This gets a "yes" vote from me :)
