The Artist is now Greenlit!
GearVR Port In Progress!
Release date: November 2016

The Artist is a first person puzzle adventure inspired by other mysterious puzzle games like Myst, The Witness, and Firewatch. Sucked into The Artist's canvas world, you must solve the strange puzzles scattered across his island to find a way back home. If you fail, you will be trapped in the canvas forever.

Read hidden journals and examine his island closely; if you look hard enough, you can find inspiration anywhere.

Keep your eyes open and your mind sharp - anything could be the key to solving his next puzzle.

  • Explore a colorful, vibrant, and fully realized canvas world
  • Enjoy atmospheric 3D sound effects and an orchestral score
  • Read books and find clues hidden carefully across the island
  • Solve devious puzzles built into the environment around you
  • Full VR compatability for both the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive

Currently, the PC build is completed and ready for release - I am hoping to port the game for both Mac & Linux platforms. The Artist will be priced at $5.99.

The Artist was programmed, modeled, and designed entirely by one person - me! I'd love your support.

I was really hoping this would get greenlight. Is there any chance of a nonsteam PC release?

Yes :D The island is styled like a cubist painting, much like Picasso did in his famous cubist work, La fábrica de Horta d´Ebre [].

Does this artist work mostly in Cubism?

Half the fun is in discovering where (and what) the puzzles are and how they all connect! If I were to show footage of the player starting or completing one, it would make that puzzle completely transparent for the viewer - I'm trying to give away as little as possible, so when you do land on the island, everything is fresh and new.

I think you need to add footage of puzzles, it's nice seeing the world built but there was no evidence of puzzle elements in the game, the stonehenge-like area looked like the start of one but there was no interactivity with the thing, not saying you should show us how to complete a puzzle, just a but of what they are to give us a taste of what to expect.
